If you gave something up for lent...
Do you have a "cheating day"
I remember when I was little some people said that you were "allowed" to cheat on Sundays if you went to church.... Of course this little rule has stuck with me since that's what everyone around me-friends/fam did...
This time around I do not plan on having a cheating day.
I mentioned "cheating" to someone yesterday and they said, "well, why bother giving something up then"
What do you do?

I gave up grated cheese since I put it on everything and I will do have grated cheese until after Easter.

Not so much a cheating day, more as a cheating exception. I gave up candy, but if I know my sugar is low - I have some in my bag just in case.

No - I used to do Sundays but not this year, I'm going to give it up the entire time.

Re: If you gave something up for lent...
I always heard sundays don'count and it is not cheating because if you count from ash wednesday to easter sunday - its 47 days - it is 40 days because you don't count the sundays - so you don't have to give somethiing up on the sundays because they are not counted
great catholic knowledge i learned in catholic school

Wow, very interesting. So Sundays simply don't count against you? That's good to know!

ah ha, so there was some truth to this-interesting because the friends who told me went to Catholic School, where they must have "learned" it!

Yes, we are allowed to "cheat" on Sundays, as long as we go to Church.

Re: If you gave something up for lent...
nope no cheating day
i actually do really well at lent bc of guilt and knowing "God is watching me"
i usually lose about 10 lbs every lent season. this says i eat way too much junk. I gain it all back on Easter

Re: If you gave something up for lent...
I already failed. I was giving up pasta for Lent and since we eat over my Inlaws (3 days) they make pasta like 5 days aweek.
a cheating day, mmmm that's sounds good, I might start that. How many days do you get?
