Doc visit today

I just got back from my appointment. Dr. R confirmed my m/c through my bloodwork (I got A/F this weekend when we were away). I asked if it was considered a "chemical" pregnancy and he said it was. I asked about trying this cycle and he would like for us to wait until after my next period to start again just to play it safe. Again, he sees no reason why we shouldn't be successful with future IUIs. The sonogram showed that all else was fine as well. Thank G-d.

I was told to take the month of from temping and charting but to resume when I get AF again - makes sense as he has used my charts whenever I have shown them in the past. Hey at least I can get some sleep for a month

Considering the m/c was like a brutal period, I think I handled it pretty well. There was never a thought in my mind that we wouldn't conceive again. I am positive we will. I look at this as a minor set-back. Dont get me wrong, I have my moments when I cry and get angry, but I also feel one step closer to our goal of becoming parents.

My only concern for the future is when I DO get PG again, if I will be able to enjoy it free from worry. That remains to be seen. I am sure others can relate to that feeling.

Im so glad that you had a good visit with the doctor and that you are being so positive. It was SO great that you got pregnant right away and I hope that the timing with your IUI is as good next time so you can have BABY S!!!!

Having the weekend away allowed DH and I to deal with this on our own and to try to focus on the positive. There was no family or internet or anything else to set me off. It was hard walking through Foxwoods with horrible cramps but I forced myself.

As far as being positive at this point, I have no choice. It will happen. And when it does, it will be amazing.

Re: Doc visit today

I also wanted to mention that I contacted Fertility Friend. I had deactivated my membership because I am not charting this cycle. I asked them to credit me a few days because I was not in a place where I could access the internet. They expressed their best wishes to me and graciously granted my request that will credit my VIP membership 5 days when I reactivate. I thought this was nice and appropriate as I thought it was a long shot.

My only concern for the future is when I DO get PG again, if I will be able to enjoy it free from worry. That remains to be seen. I am sure others can relate to that feeling.

I relate to your fear of not being able to enjoy your pregnancy when it happens. I was a wreck this time around in the beginning.
YOu will be find, b/c you will know in you rheart and your head that you are doing everything you can to go through your pregnancy and the fear will subside.

I know it's just a matter of time for you, I am so gald that you are seeing an RE.

It is a nice policy they have. They allow you to put your account on hold (for whatever the reason may be), and when you're ready, you just have to log in to activate your remaining days.

I wish you all the best in the coming months. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sadly, I am not the only one on my family to have to deal with this fear and I hope it doesnt transfer once a baby is born. My mom lost a child after birth and had amnio with me. She worried. My sister lost 3 pregnancies because of an anti-body problem - not sure what its called. I have also come to learn that other members in my family had chemical pregnancies as well. They all worried, they all had vastly different reproductive issues but they ALL had healthy children afterwards. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for us. I have to believe this.

I think having the month off is really going to be good for me. I dont have a choice and it will allow me to put the focus on other important things in my life. When we are ready to start again, I will not be working and summer school will be over. I think I'll be pretty rested!
