doctor calling in prescription to pharmacy patient has never used?
Can a doctor phone-in a script to a pharmacy the patient has never used before? If so, does the patient have to call the pharmacy first?
My DH's doctor forgot to give him a script he needs and left a message saying he could call it into the pharmacy. My DH has never had to have a prescription filled at any of the pharmacies near us, so he'd have to call it into a pharmacy he's never used before. Can this be done?
FTR, he hasn't even had a script filled at another location of the sam store -- so he's not in the systems of any of the local pharmacies...
TIA.

It can be done. The pharmacy will charge regular price until you get there and present your insurance info.
