Doctor Phobia?
I always have had a low tolerance for doctors in general. I have a lot of expectations and a clear set of criteria for who I see. That being said, I had a horrible experience with my OB, who I initially thought was a good match for me, but boy was I wrong! Anyway, since my delivery, I feel like I have developed a phobia of doctors and am so reluctant to go for a physical (which I need, as well as a new Primary due to ins issues) and even the follow up with the new OB/GYN I found. Even though I was ok on my initial visit I have this dread that I something will happen and he'll turn into an a-hole like the last one and I'll be back to square one. Anyone else deal with something like this? Are you just upfront w/ doctors and say look, this is the deal or do you you just get medical as needed and doctor hop?

Re: Doctor Phobia?
I don't have this fear exactly... but I definitely do fear doctors for other reasons. I so clearly remember laying for my sono with my first baby when everything was going so well, until the doctor came in and said we were losing him... Then I remember going for my sono with the triplets thinking everything would be fine, when Dr.B told us there were no heartbeats.. and then my latest pregnancy where we had another horrid appointment. I feel like I've just grown so accustomed to getting bad news, that it makes me scared to hear that something is wrong!
I wish I had good ideas for how to cope .. but just remember, YOU are paying THEM for their services (ok, well your insurance company is. . bust still..) .. If you don't feel you are being treated the way you deserve, you can LEAVE!! Just keep reminding yourself of the doctors you had before that crappy OB who were consistently respectful and kind... From what I recall, you had a good experience with Dr.B. Not everyone will be terrible (just like for me .. not every appt will yield bad news..) but unfortunately that's not something I can just tell you to make you feel better. I think it will take going to these places and for these doctors to prove themselves.
What area are you in? (you can FM me if you want) We just found a new primary care doctor who seems VERY nice, although we have only had one appt so far. I have good feelings about this one.
