Does anybody have PMDD?

I originally thought I had PPD, but since I got my period a few days ago I've been feeling much more relaxed. Last week I just felt like I had severe PMS. Extremely angry, tense, stressed out, anxious, couldnt sleep, my mind was constantly going, frustrated, emotional, etc... When these feelings came, especially at night, I remembered I felt like that about a month ago, calculated the times and realized it was before my period again. Now that I got my period this time, these feelings definitely lessened. I dont think its PPD anymore, if I'm diagnosing myself here, I would assume its PMDD. Does anyone have this? How do you deal with it? You can FM me. TIA!

I have it. I know quite a few people who have it and 2 are my closest friends. I don't take anything for mine though. I was on prozac to treat my PP anxiety (which also treats PMDD) but came off of it b/c it was only a temporary thing. My friend was told to take prozac to treat her PMDD. Her OB told her to take it 2 weeks before AF. She tried it with and with out the prozac to see if it made a diffference and she said it definitley did. She is much calmer when she takes it before AF.

I choose not to take anything. I'm one of those people who is not comfortable taking meds. I started the nuva ring so I'm hoping some of the hormones will balance me out pre AF. We'll see.

Definitley talk to your OB about it. In the meanwhile gooogle it and you'll see that it says prozac is often prescribed for it.

I didnt know there was a name for it, but I get like this about a week before my period all the time now...
