Does anyone believe there may be a link between babies conceived with Clomid...
and these babies having allergies? Just wondering as many of my friends (and I) needed fertility help and it seems most of the children have a nut allergy or some type of an allergy. We haven't had any issues yet with DS (knock on wood) but I wanted to put it out to you ladies. Any thoughts? FM me if this is too personal TIA

I had not heard this but I can't think of any logical reason for a connection. I think that more kids in general either have such allergies or obtain early diagnoses.

Most allergists consider peanut allergies to be an epidemic in the US, just like they consider sesame allergies at epidemic proportions in areas of the world like Isreal. Since peanuts are in so much of the American diet (peanut oil, peanut butter, etc) children now are exposed to it much more than when we were kids. They are working on a vaccine for peanut allergies, which our allergist told us should be in place within 5 years, and peanut allergies will be pretty much non-existant. Fingers crossed they can do so for the other big food allergens as well.

I am seeing a specialist in infection right now(because of multiple miscarriages) His theory is that women that have fertility issues may have been affected by infection ergo making it harder for them to conceive. Allergies are a response to an immune reaction. Infection is an immune reaction...food for thought.
