I saw the most cutest outfit for baby #2 (not sure what it is Chat Icon Chat Icon ) but it $54 and even though it is a sperate I could mix and match it and it would get more use than a one piece. DH doesnt really mind if I get it because he knows how much I like. I know I am going to break down and get it. Has anyone else spent something ridiculous on a baby outfit?

I can say I have. If I really like something I will buy it. Jake has Ralph Lauren jeans that cost 50 plus dollars, but he gets alot of use from them. Trust me, most of his clothing is not very expensive, I buy alot from target, Kohls etc. but I do splerge on him from time to time.

I am expecting a girl in April and I am afraid of the damage I am going to do shopping for herChat Icon

I second this. You can't really get out of there for less than $50 an outfit! Although I think they are having a sale this weekend! Chat Icon You know I'll be there! DH already complains I spend too much on her clothes- and she's only 4 months old!

I never spend alot. I just can't justify it, although I wish I could sometimes bc there are so many cute things out there - I love Gymboree stuff for my DD, but I just can't do it. I shop sales, second hand store, ebay or hand me downs. I always think they look cute though, and it helps that my SIL is a namebrand clotheshorse with my nephew who is 2 or 3 sizes ahead of my son.

I would do it.... when i go shopping for my niece and nephew, i dont think twice if I really really love something for them.
and this is for your own, so if you really love it, go for it.

I would NEVER spend that kind of money on an outfit at this age. We can't and I personally cannot justify it.....

they are babies...they don't know or care what they look like and they can be JUST as cute or CUTER in an outfit from Walmart.

i think the most i have spent is $25 on an outfit. i can't see spending crazy money because I don't spend that on myself right now. if its the difference between me staying home or working. i would rather stay home and have non-designer clothes.

if DD was older and would get more than 2 mths out of it, then maybe.

I have spent that and more on his special occassion outfits from janie and jack. Also his sweaters are usually anywhere from $30 - $50.

ETA: I spend more money on his clothes than I do my own!!! I have a problem with baby clothes Chat Icon

i never spend a lot on DS's clothes. I just can't justify it. Maybe if it was for a special occasion or something, but otherwise I'm a bargain shopper for his stuff.

Unfortunately, I have spent that much for DS. I just hope I have a nephew or another son who will get to use his clothes.

Ah I'm almost at the point where I justify spending $54 on Maddie's Easter dress.

Keep 'em coming!

Re: Does anyone care to reveal how much they have spent on one outfit for their child?

I spent $155 on a dress for my daughter to wear to a wedding when she was small. (She was only a guest!) She wore it once. This past September, I bought both my kids winter coats and snow bibs from L.L. Bean (with matching hats and gloves) ... they were $275 for each of them. My husband thinks I've lost my mind ...
