Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

I swear I cant stop overpacking Chat Icon Chat Icon

I NEED to have a choice of outfits, and hate wearing things more than once, twice if its a must, but I feel like vacation is time to have new outfits, new colors, cute stuff, and I packed for 5 of us for 2 weeks Chat Icon
AND we had a washer/dryer in the room, so I really could have cut my packing in half Chat Icon

and does anyone else coordinate outfits with the family ?? Chat Icon my hubby wanted to kill me when we all had camouflage outfits to wear to the Animal Kingdom Chat Icon
Im a big chooch when it comes to organizing and planning outfits. I very often have the boys all dressed the same. Then I have days where they have their own thing, but I like to coordinate clothes with where we're going/themes, etc. (well in the case of disney parks, lol).

But I swore to myself that Id stop the overpacking and overbuying.
I think 90% of our things were new with tags, vacation mode makes me run out to buy lots of new stuff Chat Icon

now I have way too much clothes and I HATE seeing overpacked closets Chat Icon

well thanks for letting me ramble Chat Icon

Re: Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

Nope. On my first trip without my parents - before there were wheels on suitcases - I packed and repacked until I could carry my bag without help or killing myself. Ever since then I packed lightly.

Always. But, i think i learned my lesson when I went st St. Lucia in January. There is a 50 lb limit on suitcases. I was 25 lbs. over and DH was 20 lbs over. It cost us $50 in overweight fees.

My husband does this too! I have an overnight bag and he has a huge suitcase for 2 days!

Re: Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

It really depends on where we are going. I will pack 3 outfits per day... one outfit to wear during the day and at least 2 outfits for the evening, just so I have a choice.

This trip we're leaving on this Friday, I'm packing very light even though we are going away for 8 days. I don't need anything more than a couple of bathing suits, a couple pair of shorts and tank tops. No dressy clothes on this trip.

Re: Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

We were at Disney for one day and we all wore Disney shirts that I bought from the Disney store with our Mickey hats.. I actually bought DD a " My first trip to Disney " shirt when were at the Character Premire Outlet the year before.

BTW.. there are a couple of "outlets in Orlando so you can get Disney Park stuff for half the price.

I always overpacked .. now I am alot better..best thing about having the washer and dryer.. clean clothes to bring home....

Re: Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

I always overpack. There are two outfits for each day - one for during the day and one at night, and at least 5-6 extra tops and a couple of extra dressy outfits.

Re: Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

Nope...I hate carrying so much stuff.

All I bring is a small carryon and a medium sized roller suitcase and thats for DH AND ME!!!

On all vacations I spend all day in a swimsuit and at night I wear the same pants or sundress over again and just wash them at the hotel in the machines.

Packing light is so much easier

It's a given that I overpack. And I *always* come home with clean clothing that I never wore. But I don't think I'll ever learn. Chat Icon

Re: Does anyone else OVERPACK ????

I always do! And I have to buy a whole new wardrobe for each trip. Dh never understands why I have to buy new clothes to go away.
