Does anyone else's DC HATE the car?
He used to love it the first two weeks - and now he screams bloody murder at least one time every single car ride - to the point where I have to pull over to console him. He will turn purple and will get to the point where he can't breathe.
It freaks the hell out of me and puts me on edge every time I am in the car. I don't know what to do anymore. Could it be that he is just uncomfortable in the carseat (he does get VERY sweaty from it) --
Should I put him in the Marathon already?
Has anyone had this issue - I know most kids love car rides.

Victoria has done this to me twice actually and I can't figure it out. It's making me nervous about some car trips with her because of how violent she gets and starts to choke after turning purple

YES!!! It freaks me out and I find that I am driving like a lunatic bc the second I hit a light - he goes nuts.
And, god forbid I don't have the windows down for King Jack - I'm have no shot of even making it down the block. Hopefully he gets over that by the winter otherwise I'm really in big trouble!

Ireland hates the car at night. If the back seat is dark she freaks out. During the day she whines unless we are going around 60mph plus. She has a need for speed!
I thought babies loved going for car rides!

Diana, he's a big boy the marathon would probably be good for him already, give him a little more space! Julia was in the marathon by 5 months. I would try it and see how he does.

My DD never liked the car. For the first 4 months, she cried every time we went somewhere. Now at 10 months...she still doesn't love it but I can get most places without her freaking out.
It should get better with time. You could try switching to the Marathon and see if that helps. It couldn't hurt to try. You could always switch back.

That's what I think I'm going to do. It's not like I really carry him around in that carseat anyway (I can barely lift it) AND it's not like he ever falls asleep in the car because he is always screaming on the top of his lungs.

well....DD always liked the car as an infant, but now at 14 months , she screams after 10 min....its horrible.

Paige hated the car for a while. I think she was about your DS' age. Every single time i hit a red light she would scream. I think its quite common. Now she is okay. She might whiine a little but usually if we are the car for a long time she will doze off.

Luka hated the carseat also until he was about 4 months old. He still wasn't the best but it was alot better. You can try using the marathon, you have nothing to lose.

Lucas had been great in the car for a while but then started flipping out - especially if we weren't moving. If DH is driving and I am in the back I usually feed him until he falls asleep. But if I am driving on my own I have to feed him first...still he cries but usually falls asleep on his own after 5 minutes. It's the most stressful thing.
I agree with the idea of moving into the Marathon. I am going to do that with Lucas soon as he is about the same size as Jack.
