Does anyone else's newborn stare into space?
My DS does have great eye contact at 4 weeks old but he often will stare beyond me (at ceiling fans, walls, and curtains). Is this normal behavior for newborns??

Lily used to do that all the time....some say that they do that sometimes because they are seeing spirits. My grandfather was very ill when Lily was born and died when she was 5 months old.....I used to think he was there watching over us and she was watching him. It's probably crazy, but it was comforting to me at the time, so I chose to believe.

ITA. I always look at DD and say "Is great grandpa looking at you again?" and she always smiles.

Cailen always stared at everything around him - and was always staring at "nothing" - I was convinced he was seeing ghosts too!
