Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
Mine refuses. He never had juice before he was 1. So after he turned 1 I tried introducing it and had no success. I've tried a couple of times and even today still with no success. He will be 2 in almost a month and still won't take juice. All he drinks is milk and water. That may be fine for now but what will happen as he gets older and won't drink as much milk? He will only drink water.
Did I do something wrong? Should I have introduced the juice to him before he turned 1 so he would have been used to it by now. I mean he absolutely refuses to the point where he cries. And mind you it's diluted with a lot of water. I would say it's 95% water and 5% juice.

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
DD doesn't drink juice. She doesn't seem to like it that much and prefers water so that is what I give her. Children don't need juice so I wouldn't worry about it.

I was wondering if I should discuss this with his ped at his 2 year checkup.

I look it at it - less juice means less sugar

DD doesn't drink juice, but that's more my choice than hers. (She went through 3 juice boxes at her 2nd b-day party).
If I want her to have juice, I'll give her a fruit instead.
And if he grows up drinking just water, he will be one healthy boy. Why are you worrying?

I guess I was worrying because I thought that it was something he should be having.
I give him fruit as well. And also yogurts with fruit flavor and sometimes he even has jello.

My girls don't drink juice. I never introduced it and now, my older one--at 2.5--will have like 2 sips from a juice box at a party or something and put it down.

Kids don't need juice. In the US, juice is mostly sugar. If your child is eating fruit, then he is fine. I just had my 2nd year appoitnment and milk and water are all a child really needs to drink.
Honestly, there are so many real things to worry about with kids, try not to sweat the small stuff. This REALLY isn't something to worry about.

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
My 2 year old only gets water to drink - she gets a few sips of apple juice on V special occasions but thats it. I hope to continue that pattern for as long as I can.

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
my 2 year old doesn't drink a drop of juice at all, never did. I only gave it to her for constipation, and now she won't even drink a juice box or watered down.
I'd rather her drink her water, no need for juice and empty calories. I hope she continues to love water forever.
I wouldn't worry

My DD is almost 10 months & I've only given juice for constipation. I would prefer she doesn't have juice for the reasons stated above...its mainly just sugar. I wouldn't worry.

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
Have you tried different juices? My DS will not drink apple juice, but loves white grape and just about everything else. Harvet Surprise (the Orange/Mango) is really tasty and also has veggies so it has more vitamins then regular juice. Maybe don't water down quite so much. I do 25% juice, 75% water. It may taste like when you drink water out of a cup you had something else in.....yuck!

Consider yourself lucky! Juice is nothing but sugar and empty calories - water is always best. Alex rarely, rarely drinks juice - she's a water and seltzer fanatic

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
mine isn't into them at all...which is fine by me since every cup I own seems to leak...so water is great.
He will sip on my naked drinks with me every now and then.

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
My DD will only drink water (no milk or juice.) I'm not concerned about the juice at all, but I worry about her getting enough calcium.
Don't worry about the juice - it's not necessary or healthy.

My son wont drink milk from a cup either whcih worries me , but there are lots of healthy juice choices which help him get some extra calcium, vitamin C and Vitamin A

Re: Does anyone else's toddler not drink juice?
My DD doesnt drink it by choice. I never gave it to her so when I went to introduce her to it she had zero interest. she rather drink plain water. I figured I would give it a splash for taste nope she threw it when she realized it wasnt plain water.
its much better this way too.

I've thought about trying another flavor. The flavor I tried now was apple and that's the one he does not want. I guess I can try another flavor and if he still doesn't want then I won't press the issue.
Thanks ladies...I'm feeling much better now...
