Re: does anyone have a hotel type timeshare?

Can't we all just chip in for a hotel for you? (No time share but I'd be glad to contribute) Also if you want to do NY for a weekend, I can help out with that.
I would definitely chip in.

Re: does anyone have a hotel type timeshare?
We( My Il's) have a condo in Acapulco if you want to go there- its a quick flight from Houston
ETA- Dh & I did a couple of trips on the cheap a few years ago through Skyauction. We stayed in Aruba @ the Playa Linda next door to the Hyatt for like 300. for a week.
We also stayed in FLorida @ Singer Island for like 200 or 250 for the week, it was a beautiful timeshare that we rented for nothing. We haven't used the site in years, but here it goes:Skyauction
A1 vacation rentals - we have rented condos from there
Also rentalo - you put in what you want and they email it to you. When you are done, you can opt out of the search.
These are some great and inexpensive options- most of the owners are flexible with thier rates.
