Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I am thinking of getting a part-time job on Sat. and Sun. mornings to supplement our income a bit.. I just don't want to get totally burned out... If you do this, how is it?

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I work full time in a school and then after work a couple of hours a week I do a part time job (but it is only about 4 hours). It's annoying having to go to another job after I'm tired from work but the extra money pays for our vacations so its worth it in the end.

I have a full-time job working 7-3pm during the week. I also work two nights a week from 4pm-8/9pmish. The weekends are mine!

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I have a part time job on weekends. I typically do 6-12 hrs, depending on the weekend.
I found something that was extremely flexible to avoid burnout - and to be able to do things other than work 7 days a week.

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I have a full - time job from 7:30-4 M-F. Then a part time job Tues and Thurs night 6-10. When I first started my second job, I was working more hours, then cut it down after my wedding.
It is tiring, but the week goes by pretty fast.

If you don't mind sharing-what are you all doing at night with those hours?

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I have a (semi) full time job with my FIL's company and a PT job at night because I like it (plus, being a Mom counts like 3x jobs in itself)
It does make the week go by fast. I tend to be a money-hungry IDIOT so 1 job is never good enough for me

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I used to work 7:30-4:30 and then a few nights a week, work a PT job from either 6-8 or 6:30-8:30. I also did 2-3 hours on Saturdays. Now, I work PT and am a FT SAHM. I am actually looking for some evening work again for a few hours.

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I worked a full time (40+ hrs) as well as one to two part time jobs for up to six years (1st PT job was approx 10-15 hrs a week/2nd PT RE Agent on the weekends). Let me tell you, after having a baby, it was ROUGH. It didn't help that my STBX didn't help at home (physically by cleaning/taking care of the home, taking care of the baby, doing what he could to help bring in money, etc.). It created a ton of my resentment on my end that I was shouldering the burden of literally everything at home and led to massive BURNOUT. I would have kept on that insane schedule of working from 8:00 to 5:00 and then 5:30 to 10:00 3 to 4 nights a week for as long as I could, but the job downsized and let me go. Thank God they did because I didn't recognize the person I had become. Everything was impacted; my child had a horrendous sleep schedule, I gained massive weight from the stress and lack of decent meals (ate whatever I could whenever I could) and my emotional/physical health was shot.
I think a 2nd job is fine as long as kids are not involved and that the balance at home is, well, balanced Good luck!

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
No kids but both DH and I have a 2nd job. Every other weekend we have to work at our full-time job. So when we are off - we pick up hours on a Saturday twice a month. We both do it so it's even...but I'm sure that will change once we have children.
It's our grocery/bag money LOL

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I was doing it for a while. I was in a full time job I hated - doing a part time job I LOVED. Unfortunately TONS of family drama took place & I had to give up my part time job.... Sometimes there is not enough hours in a day to do all you need to do personally. Be careful not to burn yourself out...it sometimes isn't worth the extra cash.

Re: Does anyone have a part-time and a full-time job?
I had three jobs up until very recently. I now teach full time and do occasional hours at Huntington Learning Center. I am supposed to start privately tutoring one boy again as well, but he hasn't called again yet.
