does anyone have any experience with bobs discount furniture?

My dh and I are going to start looking for furniture tomorrow we def want to check out bobs we have a small budget and need bedroom and living room stuff, any feedback? Or other suggestions on affordable but not cr@p furniture?

we bought our couch there and a dresser...and we are VERY happy with both. being that you have dd i would spend the extra 69 and get the goof protection. if ANYTHING gets on your couch they will clean it or replace it for free.

We bought our living room set (couch and sofa) from Bob's (microfiber material) and I was very disappointed. The material started to wear out after only 5 months. I had to go out to BBB and get those couch covers because it looked so bad. The coffee table and side tables I have no problem with though.

I just had a HORRIBLE experience with bob's... wo!uld NOT recommend them...

I know some people had good experiences but we were not as lucky!

we ordered coffee table, entertainment center and side tables for our living room from bob's. we've only had them a few months but we are very happy so far. i was actually surprised with the quality of the furniture for the money.

We got our bedroom set from Bobs because we spent a lot of money on our living room and dining room that we got at Ashley so we just didnt have the money to buy an expensive bedroom set.

Well, you get what you pay for. The bedroom set was cheap and it looks cheap and it feels cheap. Very flimsy, dont even think it is real wood. Should have just spent the extra money and had something that would look nice and last

got our couch there and we love it! it's been two years and it's still in great condition. We got the goof proof plan too, haven't used it yet (knock on wood), but I think it's good to have.

we got a coffee table and end tables there and a dining room table and chairs. the dining room table and chairs are fine except for my own stupid accident (my hot computer melted the layer of table off). the side tables are good too. the coffee table is not doing good. the veneer is falling off.

my sister raves about ashley furniture. a little more expensive but much better quality.

we got our dining room set from bobs.

the legs of the chairs and arms of the end chairs are constantly coming loose and you have to tighten it w/ an allen key.
we got the goof proof plan and i have to call it in b/c there's a crack in one of the chair's legs and the side board is starting to fall apart.

we have had this stuff for less than a year....

i will never buy from there again!

we got our dining room and bedroom sets from Bobs......and i love them!!!!

definitely get the goof proof extra warranty.....we had a mark on 1 of the dressers and we called, they guy came and re-finished it perfectly

we bought some of their more expensive sets, and everything is real solid wood, but i do know some of their stuff is very cheap, so look very closely at what you are buying from them

but i love them and will continue to shop there!!!!

I haven't personally bought anything from Bobs but I went to their showroom in Farmingdale when we were looking for furniture. Right in that area, if not on the same block there's a Raymour and Flanigan Outlet. They have a pretty big selection and you might just get lucky. You have to take the "floor model" but everything I saw was in PERFECT condition. We got our sofa from there (same day delivery), absolutely perfect, for just about half the price we saw it for in a regular Raymour and Flanigan, about a week earlier, where we originally fell in love with it and figured we might get lucky to find it in the outlets and we did. Raymours Outlet stuff can be similar to Bobs prices depending on what your looking for and how much they have it discounted. It's worth taking a look since they are all in the same area..we did a lot of browsing over there because within blocks there's a ton of Furniture stores..there's a huge Ashleys right there also.

Our couch set, our Bob-o-pedic mattress, and DS's mattress and frame are from Bob's. Two separate visits, and we were happy both times. Plus, DC like the candy shop in the store....

We bought our couch, entertainment center, power recliner, electric fireplace and coffee tables from there. Everything is perfect.

They sell name brand items, they just don't advertise it. Our leather couch is a Lane and sells for 2x what we paid on their site. The power recliner is a Catnapper and sells for $300 more than we paid for it. All reputable brands.

But like everywhere else, if you don't do your homework you can end up with junk. You just have to know what you want.

We bought a dining room set with them and while it isn't the best quality I've seen it's working fine for us! SO far no problems what-so-ever. I think it all depends on how you treat stuff too! I know of people who bought very expensive stuff and still had problems with it. I love our set though and we have the goof proof protection so I think thats fine!

we got our bedroom set from bob's...it was the only set i actually liked the look of ANYwhere. i was hesitant b/c i didn't think the quality would be great, but it's sturdier than i thought it would be and although it's only been 6 months, so far we've had no problems. we get compliments all the time whenever someone new comes over to see the house too...it's a really pretty set. we also got our coffee and side tables for the living room from bob's, and we are just as happy. people compliment those even more than the BR furniture.

if you see something you like at bob's, get the goof proof for peace of mind and go for it!

ashlee furniture also has LOTS of nice looking stuff...we got a kitchen table and chairs from there and we love it...however it was put together incorrectly which ruined the wood on the table top, and it was a bit of an ordeal to finally get them to replace it. but they did and we love it...they are a little more than bob's, but still cheaper than most others.

We basically furnished our entire house with Bobs. We've had the furniture almost 2 years and must say that our couches are the best. We most definitely will go back for couches when we need new ones down the road.

Our coffee table and side table in the living room have chips in them (like the varnish chipped off). Our TV stand is in great condition. It's a great piece of furniture.

Our formal living room side tables and end tables are in good condition. We don't use them really so I guess that helps.

Our bedroom furniture is okay. I know a few people on LIF have the same set as us but not sure if they have similar problems. The knobs on the drawers twist. The screws are too long so you can't tighten them. It drives me nuts. We've had replacement knobs and screws sent, but it's the same problem.

Definitely get the goof proof! It's totally worth it!

Our dining room table is from Raymour and we love it. We wanted great quality and went with them, plus we didn't see anything in Bobs that we loved.

We have a sectional and a chair from them, and were very satisfied with quality, service, and delivery.

My friend ordered bedroom furniture and some other pieces from them, and had a lot of problems with damages. She loves her couches from them, though.

never bought but looked there for a bedroom set for our daughter. Thought the material was very cheaply made and would break in a year. Wouldn't buy from there.
