Does anyone have any unique/creative math lesson plans??
I teach grades 1-5 basic skills and want to do something different for when I get observed by my principal in Oct...

Do you have a Smartboard in your building? It's amazing interactive. Everyone I know who has used it for an obsevation has come out with great reviews!!

I have done and love the m&m math graphing, where the kids have to predict how many m&m colors are in the bag, then sort them, then graph it, then analyze the graph. The kids love it!

there is a book called math art that has math subjects given through art projects- i havent looked through it in a few years but I remember seeign some pretty cool things in there...

Thanks girls. The m&m's one sounds really good. Do you think it would be ok to use this with 2nd graders?
I just ordered a math art book and still haven't had a chance to skim through it..but, thanks for reminding me

make sure there are no kids with peanut allegeries...b/c i know m&ms contain peanuts (even the plain ones).
