Does anyone have United Healthcare Options PPO?
Does anyone have United Healthcare Options PPO? We currently have Empire BC/BS PPO, but DH just got a new job- and it is much cheaper for us to get the United insurance thru his job, then it is to keep Empire thru my job.
If you have UHC Options PPO, do you like it?

I have a question......
I am reading about the copays, etc. And under in-patient hospital stays, it says "90% after deductible"- does that mean that we are covered 90%, and we pay 10% after our deductible?

To be honest with you I am not sure - but I think this question can be answered by anyone who knows insurance, its not really specific to UHC as far as I know. I am sorry I never really dealt with a hospital stay.

Its just worded so weird! I just dont want to get stuck with this huge bill after I give birth b/c with our current insurance, you only have to pay $150 when you stay in the hospital.
Thanks for your help anyway- I'm glad to hear that you have it and like it!

Re: Does anyone have United Healthcare Options PPO?
not 100% sure but i'll take a shot at it.
you have a deducatale (like your car insurance)... So if you bill is 5000 from the hostipal...and your deducatable is 1000... you are responible for the first 1000, then your insurance gets in with the 90% 90% of the remaining 4000 = 3600. You would be responible for the remaining 400...
i hope this helps...always best to call for more answer..and even if your not a member yet, you should be able to call and get info and/or the HR person of the plan would have all the facts for you

I wouldn't base your opinion on what other people say here-- each company negotiates a different package for their employees, even if it's the same provider and plan.
You probably have 30 to 60 days to enroll-- I would ask around at your new job to get a better sense of what the plan is like.
