Does anyone know about Islip Schools
Not East Islip, not West Islip, but Islip
DH and I ares starting to look this month and Islip is one of the many towns he wants to look into.
Being a teacher, the school district is very important to me and I know a lot about a lot of districts, but have never heard anything about Islip.

I live in Islip and while I don't have kids, I do know that every one of my neighbors and people I commute with who have children going to Islip schools are very happy with them. When we were buying our home 4 years ago the results at Islip were better than East Islip. I also overheard a guy on the train the other night saying that he was looking at a house that was East Islip schools and didn't want to buy it because it would mean moving his kids out of the Islip SD.

My BIL teaches at Islip High and LOVES not only the school but his students.

I grew up in Islip and my 14yr old sister goes there now. I absolutely loved my school, and so does my family. It's a smaller school and the teachers are great. If it wasn't so far from the city, where DH and I work, we would be moving there now. FM me if you have any questions.

My DH and his siblings all went to Islip, and were very happy there. There is a big rivalry with E. Islip, and some will tell you E. Islip is better, but I think it's just personal preference. The demographics is Islip do seem to have changed in the past 5 years, but not necessarily a bad thing.
