Does anyone know how much Verizon charges to back out of a cell phone contract early?
We are paying roughly $100 per month for my cell phone. I use this thing literally 15 minutes or so per month.
We are really needing to cut back costs, and I'm wondering if it's better in the long run just to pay the cancellation fee.

I have heard that your contract is not for the plan you are on, just an agreement that you will stay with tha provider.
Maybe you can switch to a pay-per call kind of plan?

It depends on how long you have left on your contract. On my line my contract was up on the other line it still had 4 or 5 months left and it was $95 to cancel.

I believe that cancellation fees are now supposed to be prorated based on how much time is left on your current contract.

Hmm...I never thought of the pay-per-call option. That would be GREAT for me. I'm the type of person that literally has a cell phone ONLY for emergencies (oh yeah, and the VZ Navigator  ).
Other than that, we're on the 2nd-to-lowest plan as far as monthly minutes are concerned. Dropping down to the lowest plan would only save us $10 a month.
