Does anyone know of any DECENT 2 bedroom apartments in Suffolk County?
My little sis is looking for her 1st apartment and is having trouble finding something decent looking. She's not looking for any specific town but needs to be a safe neighborhood for her(21) and her 4 year old son. She works at Stonybrook Hospital and my nephew goes to school in Islandia/Hauppauge area and the babysitter is in Bellport so anything around those towns.
If you know of anything please please let me know.

ETA...she's looking at apartments in houses.

We lived in Heatherwood complex in Port Jeff station. They were very very nice. I know they have a bunch of other complexes she could look into.

I currentlly have a 1br in Colony Park Apartments in Ronkonkoma. It is nice here but I plan to move to a 2br in Saddle Rock Apts in Holbrook this coming April. My main reason for moving to Saddle Rock is that I want a Washer & Dryer IN the apt. many apt complexes on LI do not have washers & dryers in the apartments.
ETA: Colony Park is a Heatherwood community.

So did we and we enjoyed our two years there. They have studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments. First and second floors are available, pet friendly, etc. They have locations across LI.

Some of the listed apartments are expensive. How much is she looking to spend? I was going to suggest Heatherwood in Port Jeff too but then she would have to drive all the way to Islandia to drop him at school and all the way back to Stony Brook. Did she try Craig's list? I've had decent luck on there.

Did you know mlsli.com now has rental properties on it? The only problem is you get stuck paying a broker's fee, but there are a few in Ronk. on there that look nice and affordable.
Not sure if this link will work rental

The pennysaver & yankee trader are usually good sources. Its hit or miss with apartments in private homes though. Every landlord has a different idea of what a "nice or spacious" apartment is.

I live in heatherwood Ronkonkoma apartments. The Colony Park complex. I love it here. It's quiet and the grounds are well maintained. The apartments are roomy. Rent includes heat and hot water. I only pay my verizon bundle and LIPA. I live on the second floor with the terrace which I love to sit out there. But the first floor has a larger walk in closet. Fh works in Happauge and it's minutes away. If she goes through Happauge she can take 347 to Stonybrook. Otherwise, colony park is close to the lie and she can take nicholls from there. I work in Port Jeff, FH in Happauge and this has been a great place for us. Good Luck

The 2br I am looking to rent @ Saddle rock with the washer/dryer in the apt is $1675/month. I just called them last week.

DH and I lived in the Holbrook Saddle Rock apartments before we got married and we loved it there!
I have no idea what it costs to live there anymore though.

We lived in Heatherwood Communites Spruc Pond which is located in HOlbrook on the intersection of Sunrise Highways and Nicholls Rd for about 2.5 years and LOVED IT!!!!!!
I communted to StonyBrook everyday, I was in school in the Health Sciences center.....

ETA: Heat and hot water is included. THe rent for a 2 bedroom should be around $1600 or less. THere are also washer and dryers IN the apartment.....
We ended up moving to Moriches to another heatherwood community a few years later into a beautiful townhouse and LOVED IT!!! It is really a great company, maintenenace is SUPER fast and nice!!!

We lived in the Fairhaven complex on 347 & Browns Road for about 2 years.
LOVED it there.
We had the 2nd floor apt. and it had a lot of space.
