Does anyone know what happened in Lindenhurst on Hoffman Avenue yesterday afternoon?
As I was heading into the gym near the train station, I saw a whole bunch of cops, Fire trucks and ambulances. I heard that a little boy was hurt on his scooter? Not sure if that was the case...
Does anyone know?

A 14-year-old boy was in critical condition Wednesday after he was hit by a car while riding a kick scooter in Lindenhurst, Suffolk police said.
The accident at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday on Wellwood Avenue near Hoffman Avenue is under investigation, police said.
The boy was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was in critical but stable condition, police said Wednesday morning.
No further information was immediately available on the accident between the car and the nonmotorized scooter

DH was there. He said the woman who hit him was on the ground sobbing.
Kids just aren't careful! They're always running out from between parked cars and doing stupid things.
In just this last month I've seen a kid (prob about 16) laying behind the back tires of his friends car (while someone was in the drivers seat and the car was running!!!) just becuase he thought it was funny. And another time there was a kid hiding under one of those big orange traffic things and running into the middle of the street trying to get cars to veer around him.
I feel bad for the kid- obviously- and hope he's alright. But I also feel for the driver (as long as she wasn't doing anything wrong)
