just heard on the radio there are alot of cops there?
UPDATE FROM NEWS 12
(07/25/08) RONKONKOMA - The Southwest Airlines terminal at MacArthur Airport was evacuated Friday morning due to a bomb threat.
Officials say shortly before 7 a.m., someone called the headquarters for the airline in Dallas, Texas and made a threat against a flight going to Chicago. The flight was scheduled to leave at 7 a.m and arrive in Chicago at 8:01 a.m.
In addition to the terminal being evacuated, the airport was locked down due to the threat. Police also boarded the plane with bomb-sniffing dogs to check for anything suspicious.

I never got these bomb threats. IMO if you wanted to blow up a plane (or a building or whatever) you aren't going to call and warn everyone about it.
Like what is the point?

I know what you mean - that's why I felt safe when there was a bomb threat where I work this past spring.
But I get why they have to lock down and search anyway - could you imagine if a bomb did go off, and it comes out that the people in charge didn't do anything because they assumed it was a hoax? People just like to cause trouble. In the situation where I work it was a student who I think wanted to get out of his test the next day.
ETA: he didn't have to take the test, he was in jail.

Oh I agree- they DO have to take everything like that seriously- esp in this day and age 
However- we all know that if terrorists or anyone else want to blow something up- they aren't going to be warning us!
