Not sure where you live but there is an aquarium store in the Centereach Mall near walmart...they would probably have one. Maybe the major Pet Stores? Petco? Petland?

Yes - Dee's in Oceanside has them. We have a pond and this is where Dh gets all of the supplies for the pond

We go there sometimes too but now we really use Aquarium Adventure more. They are in Carle Place but I am pretty sure you live far from there

My dad has had his pond for over 10 years and has never heated it. The fish basically hibernate under the ice. I can't remember him ever saying he lost a fish to the cold of winter.

We have. We lost 3 of our Koi this winter because it got too cold before we could put our heater in.
We used to just run the waterfall all winter but now we shut that off and put the heater in. It just gives a small air pocket for them.

Sorry you lost some  My dad has so many and every spring has to give them away. He also never keeps the waterfall on, I think it usually freezes up.

Coy? You're kidding!! I think my dad said he had over 100 one year...they just keep multiplying, and get HUGE.
If I hear of him giving any away this year, I'll let you know!!

Any kind of carp do really well under ice, we have had shubunkin in my parents pond for 10 years now, I can't believe they can live that long!!!
