Does anyone remember ... UPDATED - FOUND PIC OF SS COSTUME! (halloween related)
Do you remember when Halloween costumes were made from shapeless plastic & had those masks no one could really see out of the eye holes?
I had a Strawberry Shortcake one ... but I can't find a pic

I'm not sure but I don't even think mine had pant legs ... I think it was like a glorified trash bag with printing on it

When my DS was 5 I got him a great Mr.T costume. The mask alone was awesome. I ended up wearing it every Halloween for years at work! lol Image Attachment(s):

OMG I was Strawberry Shortcake too in Kindergarden!
In first grade I decided those costumes were not good enough when I saw people with more real looking homemade costumes.

My parents refused to buy those for us. My stepmom made our costumes and they were the best.

Absolutely. Our parents wrapped us in glorified Hefty bags, strapped a piece of plastic around our heads, secured with a rubber band, and wished us the best -- and we all survived!
We'd go into Woolworth's the week before Halloween, and pick out whatever we wanted from the boxes - and everyone else had the same type of costume...life was so much more simple back then

Seriously! I kept telling DH that I wish they were still around, bc the cost of costumes for kids are ridiculous. $30+ for a costume a kid will wear for 2-3 hours is just crazy.

I remember them, especially the Strawberry Shortcake one, but I was never allowed to wear them, my mom always made our costumes.
