Does anyone remember what happens at the end of Lucas (the movie)?
Does Lucas die or something? Or is it just the football injury and then he is celebrated at school.
Watching I love the 80s on VH1 and I can't remember. I feel like the ending was sad.

Oh I love that movie!
He is in the big football game and Charlie Sheen is the quarterback. Lucas is the only player open and Sheen has to throw the ball to Lucas, who doesnt catch it. Lucas removes his helmet to see the ball better, and when he doesnt catch it he gets hurt is a big tackle/pile on. His glasses are shattered and he's lying there unconscious.
I dont remember if he goes to the hospital.
Anyway - the very very end has lucas coming back to school - thinking that everyone will hate him because they lost the big game. He is being stared at by people in the hallway and he opens his locker to find. . . . a football jacket!
Some big football player guy starts chanting "Lu-cas!" and the whole hallway full of kids chimes in. Winona Ryder (the other geeky kid in the school) is smiling - and Lucas puts the jacket on.
Happy times.
I can't believe I remembered that!
