Does anyone still fill up those coin rolls from the bank?
You know the kind that you fill up with each type of coin & exchange for cash at the bank? Just wondering if people still do this?

We just put it all in the coin machine at the bank and it sorts it and adds it up for us

Oh, yes--the rolls we still use. I hate to roll them, but DH does because he is an old man.
He won't use coin star because of the fee  & we don't have a Commerce Bank near us.
ETA--Actually we do have a Commerce bank in 2 neighborign towns. I just looked it up. He's just set in his ways, I guess. I think he doesn't believe me that they do it for free even if you don't have an Acct.

I use the counting machine at commerce.. I do count the change first, just to make sure im not getting jipped.

yup we have a coin sorting machine so i just dump it in and put in the rolls and it does it for me!
i am cheap and wont pay a fee! LOL

Dh has one of those old school banks that loudly sorts the coins. He loves it , but then leaves the rolls in his drawer for like a year before he gets around to taking them to the bank. He says he prefers to do it himself to taking them all to that machine I should just take them myself one day!

ok, good to hear that the bank teller won't look at me like I am a fool if I bring the rolls in ... I have so much change sitting around & I don't remember seeing a commerce bank in my neighborhood.

some banks don't take coin like that anymore...because they can't verify that it's right.

Dh keeps loose change in plastic cups and it drives me crazy. I roll 'em up, bring them to the bank and deposit it into our account.

If you don't have a commerce account, how does it work? Do they just have a machine there, like the coinstar machine? Or do you need to wait on line and then get the salespitch about opening a commerce account?

you just go in with your coins and dump them into the machine. Someone may come over to help you with your coins and sometimes the machine needs emptying.
No sales pitch..no hassles..nice place.
Makes you want to switch.

No, I bring the bag to a coin drop off in Commerce bank. I used to use those rolls but who has the patience for them anymore?
