Re: does anyone use Nuvaring?
I've been using it for almost 5 years and love it - seriously, nothing easier (except maybe tying your tubes ).
Put it in, take out 3 weeks later. A week after that, put in the new one. Repeat.
No pills to remember to take at the sammmmme time every day, no pills to accidentally forget to take. No patch to potentially irritate your skin to put on. Etc.
I was VERY skeptical because of the whole - put in, take out - part, but it's SO easy and I never feel it. It's been fine during intimate times as well! IFFF I feel it during intimate times, I can take it out (replace within 3 hours!), but I usually don't even need to.
HTH!

Re: does anyone use Nuvaring?
I used it for about 2 years. I liked it because I'm horrible at remembering to take a pill.
I had minimal side effects, and although it fell out a few times during intimate times, I just slipped it right back in.
I reccommend it.

Re: does anyone use Nuvaring?
I was on it for 3 years and looooooooooooved it. I hate BC and had sworn off it until my Dr. convinced me to try the ring. I didn't have any mood swings because it is a continuous low dose, instead of peaks and lows from taking the pill once a day. I also never had any weight gain or headaches.
I came off it in Dec and my cycle was regular right away, I got PG my second month trying off the ring.

Re: does anyone use Nuvaring?
I had a horrible experience on it.
I was so moody .... DH said he thought like I was going to kill him any second.
Also the 2nd month I was on it I got my period, week later put in the new one.....and was at the tail end of my period....and my period never went away.
I bled for the whole month. Finally I took it out and it stopped. I never went back on it after that, it freaked me out too much.

-------------------------------------------------------- really? I am so afraid of that happening if I start using NR what if I don't realize it fell out and get pregnant again(not that that's such a bad thing, but I can't have any more children for a while) is there a chance that you don't see or feel when it falls out? One more silly Q , does it hurt when you put it in or take it out?

It doesn't hurt at all.
This may be TMI- but most of the time when it came out- DH was "wearing" it. There was one time I didn't realize it- I found it on the bed the next morning. Luckily nothing happened. You could always just check yourself and the bed after intercourse to make sure it's still in there.

Re: does anyone use Nuvaring?
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU I had a appt with the gyn and asked for nuva ring instead of getting the IUD, she gave me a sample and prescription so we'll see how it goes, haven't tried yet.

I had terrible pounding headaches for the 2 weeks I tried it. My coworkers love it though! OMG I started having head aches 2 days ago the day after I started using the NR and they haven't stopped since. Did you stop using it or did the head aches just stop? bc I don't know what to do, waiting for Monday to call the GYN and find out what I should do. I assume it's going to take some time for my body to adjust to it, I am hoping that the head aches will just go away

Re: does anyone use Nuvaring?
The headaches were for the 2 weeks straight I was on it. I decided to just come off it myself and they automatically went away. I hope they go away for you

what are your thoughts about it?
UPDATED Q:
How soon do you normally get your AF after you remove the N R after 3 week use? Yesterday afternoon was the begining of "ring free week" and still no AF I am getting little worried
TIA
I take mine out and get my pd about 3 days after, and it lasts for about 3 days (with some light spotting for a day or so after I put another one back in) I have been on it for about 3 years now. I am a Sunday starter so it's out on a sunday, my pd is from wednesday (usually night) to Saturday.
HTH ! ! ! !
ETA: did you switch from another BC to this one, or did you start this one without using any BC before? I know that if you start this and are coming off another one then you should be okay, but if you are starting this fresh with no other BC in your system then there is a "back up method" period otherwise you might get pg. Here's the details from the Nuvaring site

Yes I just started fresh with no BC before this . but I did give it over 2 weeks before you know Anyway, now I feel better bc I thought I was supposed to get it after few hrs or next day you take the ring out. It's only been about 24 hrs so I guess I 'll wait and see. Thanks again so much I 've been so worried

Your welcome. Honestly I have been on it for a LONG time (over 2 years) and it took a good couple of months before I was on a regular schedule after taking it out. If you waited over 2 weeks you "should" be okay. IMO, give it a few days b/c you are starting with no BC in your system, and your body may just need to get used to the forced horomones.

Re: does anyone use Nuvaring UPDATED WITH ONE MORE QUESTION
I've been on it for almost a year now and I usually get a horrible headache the day after I remove it which doesn't go away until I get my period. It's a slight improvement from taking the pill (use to get a lot more headaches) so I'll deal with until I ready to TTC again then I'm thinking of trying an IUD.

do not worry! i ALWAYS got AF several days after removing the ring, if i took it out on sunday, i usually didn't get AF until tuesday night or wednesday. but it only lasted a couple of days, and was almost always gone by saturday afternoon.
ETA: just saw your above post/update - now you know what to expect!
