I work in the worst part of the city-- garmentos and tourists!!!

My dirty look meter is set to HIGH every morning and evening.. Oh, and when you factor umbrellas into it-- OY!

I seriously think we need to establish a pedestrian handbook for those who enter Manhattan.

Especially on rainy days- it makes me yearn for suburbia and the day when I can drive to work and have a short walk from the parking lot.

we do need to establish a pedestrian handbook although i just wish common sense would kick in.

but as much as i get umbrella rage, i cant imagine actually doing that - driving somewhere to work and having to get in my car to go to lunch. maybe i'm a glutton for punishment but i just cant imagine not working in the city.

If I could make what I make-- and have a 15 min drive to work-- I am there in a heartbeat..

I do but refuse to walk 34th unless I have to at lunch to pick something up- I walk up 33rd which is better - Nothing like hurring to catch your train and everyone just wants to STOP 4 across and have a conversation or stare up at the tall building...LOL

I do but since I'm right upstairs from Penn - I don't venture near Macy's unless I desperately need something.

I worked in that area.. on 37th and braodway.. i used to hate walking by macy's becasue i would always run into someone looking up at the empire state building.. i also gave up walking with an umbrella was so much easier to bob and weave though all those Golf umbrellas becasue think they need to use.. so do not miss it

If I'm going that way on a rainy day, I walk through macy's just to get away from the umbrellas.

however, I won't go in at all between Thanksgiving and Christmas and during the flower show. I hate the flower show because it brings the tourists inside the store and they stop and take pictures -- inside the store! Chat Icon
