Does BBB/BRU take back opened items if there is nothing wrong with the item?
We opened a few items that we never used or we tried once and didn't like. Can we return these items?
For example, our child isn't crazy about the Rainforest mat, we literally opened it, put him in it for about a minute. Could we simply put the mat back in the bag and return it?

Do you have a reciept? That is their big sticking point.
And isn't your DC very tiny? I don't think he knows what he likes yet, I wouldn't be so fast to return things yet

if i were you i would keep that mat... DS wasn't too crazy about it as a newborn but as he got older and could see better he liked it more, and now that he is 6.5 months and rolling/army crawling he LOVES it!!
if you have the receipt though i don't think you need to give a reason when you return it.

OK, maybe I shouldn't give up on the mat too fast. I just gave that as an example.
Then there are items like the boppy pillow. I used it for a few days and washed it. I don't like it and bought the brest friend pillow. It is off my registry. I'm assuming there is no way they would take it back. I'm thinking I'll just take all my unwanted items and then they can say yes or no when I get there.

Isn't DS like just a week? I wouldn't go returning anything yet. All he is interested in is sleep, pooping and eating at this point. A bit early for play mats. I would wait.

i don't think they care if it's used honestly - and there is no need for you to tell them
i would do just like you said, put it back in the packaging and try and return it, the worst they can say is no

Um, if you used and washed it, I would not return in. IMO, that is not really fair to someone who goes to BRU and buys what they think is a brand new boppy and opens it and it has been used and washed

I assume if you have the receipt they will take it back. Just a suggestion re: the boppy. I didn't use it for BFing either, but I use it for other things, like propping DD up, or using it as part of her tummy time.

If you have a receipt, they will take it back. Do you ever see the open box/package clearance items section they have with the orange stickers? That stuff comes from returns.

I agree. If you have unused items you want to return, fine. But returning used things is wrong. Try selling them on craigslist, although I agree with the others it is way too early to know what your baby likes or not.

like pp said, if you have a receipt, they will take it back, but only things they sell in the store... ie, someone send us a gift box of baby items that was purchased off our registry from the web, but BRU does not carry the gift set in the store, so they refused to take it back. I personally would not return things I have washed.

Yes you can return it with a reciept if its opened.
And it doesnt matter if its Used and Washed..They dont Restock it , they send it back to the manufacturer once its open( the package).
Also- I hated the RainForest Playmat, it used to fall on my sons head...but I agree let him get a bit more use out of it before deciding.
Just save ALL reciepts and you should be fine.
Also I was there the other day and a girl had no reciept but it was off her registry and they let her return a TON of stuff, so it all depends on the day and person it seems.

I have found this to be totally NOT true. I can name at least 3 items off the top of my head that I bought there that were obviously repackaged once we'd opened it (Tiny love mobile, exercauser, and my wipes warmer )

It depends on why its returned. If its a USED item for personal use like a boppy it should be returned to the manufacturer , thats the rules. Now if they dont do that, its BRU's fault, not the fault of the person returning it KWIM?
A bouncer of ours ( opened and un assembled) was restocked.....but our Under crib heart monitor thingy ( forgot whats its called) was sent back to manufacturer b/c anything "bedding" or used near bedding is suppossed to be returned.
Now Im sure it doesnt always happen that way, just saying she shouldnt feel guilty returning it, its allowable per policy.

I don't know for sure, but I seriously doubt they would accept anything that was opened and used... even once.
they have rather rigid return policies....
(and I agree, I don't think it's fair to other customers to return used/washed items.... since I'm VERY skeptical about BRU's business practices, I'd be stunned if they actually returned those items to the manufacturer... I bet it goes back on the shelves..._
