Does DC cry when you drop them off at daycare?
Thomas used to not care at all when I dropped him off. He'd happily go to the teachers, and once he learned to sit and then crawl, he just couldn't wait to get his hands on toys and play, play play! I would stand at the door waving and saying Thomas, I love you. Have a good day. See you later. Just to get a smile from him before I left. He would give me a quick smile and go right back to his toys, teachers, other kids. All the other mother's would sneak out of the room while there kids were crying, as to not make it worse. Now, at 11 months, he cries when I leave... I can't wave at the door anymore and tell him I love him. I have to sneak out of the room like the other mothers so he can be distracted by the teachers with toys and forget about me until it's time for pick up. I am so sad - I just want to go pick him up and hug him.
If your child cries when you drop them off, how do you handle it? Leave quickly, go back and try to comfort them, etc.?
Thanks!

Sorry, that's the worst feeling. I would say my goodbye and give my kisses amidst the crying and I would leave very quickly. I was always told (and choose to believe) that they get over it after a few minutes and get right into their routine.

seperation anxiety starts to kick in around that age. Hopefully he will overcome it.

Thanks!
I guess it's normal separation anxiety, but it's heartbreaking!

I don't know if it helps, but when I drop my 2 year old off at daycare he lets out a yelp of joy and runs to play with his friends. Makes my day go much smoother!

Lucas is starting this...it used to be the same as you described with Thomas. We would say good bye and he would momentarily look up from his toy and smile...then go right back to what he was doing. Now he is starting to watch as I say good-bye. A few times (only a handful) he has cried and being the sucker that I am I play with him for a while then leave. But I think we are heading down the same road that you are on.
Not much help but lots of for you and Thomas. Just keep telling yourself it's a phase (then remind me later )

Cailen is the exact same way - but most days he is fine - once in a while - in the past few months - a little whining and running after me, but he loves his teachers so much....
