does dr. Check baby heart beat at every appt?

I have my first official dr appt in 2weeks. Ill be 10wk 1 day by then...i already had an ultrasound sound done at 6 wk with a sono tech but never meet the dr. I will be having a pap done at this appt as well as meeting the dr. Will the dr. Check to hear the babys heartbeat then or am i just getting a pap done? Does the heartbeat get checked at every visit?

I dont remember if my OB listened for the heart beat when he did the pap, he probably did...he check it at every visit.

Right after my NT scan (11w4d) I had an appt with the doctor and he used the doppler and was able to hear the heartbeat. Twice in one visit!! SCORE!
He has used the doppler at every subsequent visit since.

10wks might be a little too early to hear on the doppler but maybe they'll do a scan!

mine started checking for the heartbeat after the NT scan..

my firsdt ultrasound I was about 7 and half weeks. I had my first official OB appt at 9 and half weeks. They didn't check for the heartbeat but said everything looked good on the ultrasound. HTH

They will def start to use the doppler after the 12 week but you might be too early to hear it on the doppler. I had a sono at 8.5 weeks and another a week later ( was in due to excessive MS) so I was able to see the baby a lot in the beginning but they didnt use the doppler until my next appt which was at almost 14 weeks.

I had my first ob appointment at 10 weeks but he said it was too soon to use the doppler. Every appointment since then he has check the heartbeat.

My doctor checked the heartrate at every visit.

My dr uses the doppler at every appointment. They've told me that if they can't find the heartbeat for some reason, they'll definitely do a sonogram just to make sure everything is ok.

I think 10 weeks is pretty early, and I would hope that if they couldn't find the heartbeat they would do a sono for you so that you're not worrying if the baby is ok.

mine does...and I wind up with sono picx each time

I had my pap done only at my first ob appointment. After that, all others visits he checked the heartbeat.
