Does everyone make their own baby food? Anyone just buy it?
Am I terrible mommy for wanting to just buy baby food and not make my own?
I just bought a bunch of Stage 1 baby food - Gerber, Beech Nut, Nature's Best.

I buy it. I think its great for those who make it, but I dont have time. DS loves it and its much easier IMO. We are on Stage 2 Gerber.

I always bought it. When Kaydyn was on baby food I was working 6 days a week about 65 hours....there just wasn't enough time in the day to make my own food.

I buy it. Earth's Best Organic and Gerber Organic too.
I work about 50 hours a week and don't even have time to eat myself let alone cook. Also I am paranoid about pureeing it enough...
When he is a little bigger I may attempt to make some and will still buy some too.
Diapers.com is my BFF.

buy it. I buy whatever is on sale. We're on stage 2 and DS has 3 jars a day. I don't have time to make my own. I work full time and commute. I barely have time to prepare dinner for DH and myself. I think DS will be just fine.

I was buying my baby food until a couple of LIF Moms inspired me to make my own. I tried sweet potatoes and summer squash. My DD responded so much better to the homemade stuff and it was fun making it. It did take a while to make it and I still have cases of Earth's Best that I also use. I think if you have the time and desire to make their food that's cool, but jarred baby food is just as good nowadays. What To Expect in the First Year actually gives the thumbs up to organic jarred food over homemade food with the reasoning that jarred food is made under very strict conditions ands there is little to no risk of contamination.

I buy it...I have a hard enough time fitting in solid food feedings as it is. I think it's great for the mommies that can do it, but I just don't have the time.

If you knew me you would totally think I would make all my own food-- I love to cook, I'm very big on making things from scratch, I buy largely organic, etc. But actually I've only made baby food occasionally for both kids, because I'm a little bit paranoid... always wondering was it cooked well enough, was it pureed well enough, was it organic, etc. For the first year until I could introduce table food, I was actually far more comfortable buying jarred organic food than making my own.
Outside of the cost savings, I don't think there's a huge upside to making your own, especially if you buy organic jarred stuff instead. And if you end up buying a $$$ Beaba and all the little storage containers in order to do it, you kind of feel like you have to commit to making your own to justify the purchases. Overall, my kids liked the homemade and the jarred equally.

I was at my friend's place for a bbq and she had the beaba and was raving about it. I would just buy go and buy it but I know I'll probably use it a handful of times and it'd just be a huge waste.

I made so much for my oldest daughter and froze it since I was a SAHM for 7 months. But I did use Gerber foods as well, especially while out of the house. So much more convenient. So she got both - just more homemade foods
Since second DD has come along and been more of a challenge than her older sister, I already began purchasing food from BRU and BJ's when I have the coupons. I plan on making the more easier foods myself so she'll get a mixture of both

I make and buy... I find it much easier to bring the jarred foods when we are out, but when we are home, I try to use the homemade food...
It is actually really easy to make the veggies...fruits sometimes take a little longer.
I did not buy anything special...just the good ole blender and it works perfectly. For now, I use ziploc bags to freeze, but I need to find those "ice cube tray" type things with the cover...it will be even easier then.

I buy it. I just honestly don't have time to make it. And I'm glad to say Athan is thriving just fine on the jarred stuff

I was very gung ho about making my own. then truth be told, I like to eat the same things over and over. I found that I was making DS the same things. I started buying bc of much more variety (fruits and veggies). it's easier, and I don't get upset if he does'nt eat it. I will make him different fruit/ and veggies w/ chicken for dinner, but that's it

I started to...but dh said to give myself a break if I am already making milk.
my kid never ate anyway...a jar of food lasted 3 days.
next baby I will attempt again

I have never made my own baby food. I take care of DD all day long (7am to 2pm) and then leave for work, getting home at 1am. I am lucky I have time to feed her! I don't think I'm a bad mommy for giving her jarred food and I don't think you are either!
