Does it matter what time of day you exercise?
My kids get up pretty early, and I really do not want to wake up at 5am to exercise. Can I do it when they go to bed, after 8:30pm? It wouldn't really be cardio, more like toning exercises.
I go to bed around 11, if that matters.

Doesn't matter when you do it, so long as you are :)
I've read that exercising later can hinder a person's sleep pattern a bit, but honestly...I go through phases of being a 5 a.m. gym-goer and an 8 p.m. gym-goer and I sleep just fine.
Try it and see if it works for you. I do use a calming body wash with lavender when I shower after the gym at night. Whether that helps me sleep for real, or if its just all in my mind, I don't know.
Good luck!

I don't think it matters at all. I go on my lunch break but also have gone on streaks when I go after work and I have never felt that it altered my results

I don't think it matters either. It is more of a preference of when you like to do it and when you can.
For me, the gym I belong to has babysitting and I like going in the morning. I tried going at night after the kids went to bed and I feel like I never got a chance to unwind.
My DH on the other hand go at night. For him it is easier at night.

I try and go either first thing in the morning, or when I get home from work. But as long as you do it, it doesn't really matter

I do both. I get up at 5am to go on my treadmill at home, but then some nights I do weights or zumba at the gym.

I say it doesn't however, when I work out late at night, I can't sleep well. So mornings always are better for me. I feel like I'm set for the day!

Re: Does it matter what time of day you exercise?
I am a late night person at the gym. I don't get there until about 8:30-9:00 and I do anywhere from an hour to an hour and half.
I don't sleep much regardless so for me it doesn't matter.
