Re: does large for gestational age mean...
it better not mean that....Dr. Greenberg said was measuring "extra large" for her age...but will make me go for another sono at 36-37 weeks to determine if I need a C-section....

I don't think it's a definite C-section BUT it increases your chances of having one.

Not true, every person is different. I did have a section with DS who never measured too far ahead of g-age but was 9lb 14oz at birth (I opted for a c-section) however my SIL had a v birth with her 9lb 13oz baby.
As my Dr said a good labor / delivery is more than just the size of the baby or the size of teh mom, its alot about position, effective ness of contractions etc.
Dont worry! Also alot of babies will measure ahead early on and then even out towards the end. or vice versa!
I agree with you and I didn't say it was a definite but my OB did mention the chance of needing a C-section does increase if the baby grows too large. Yes there are many other contributing factors to a successful birth, no doubt and I won't argue that, but the doctors are concerned if the baby gets too large which is why (because I have GD) I will be monitored weekly now until I deliver. Size can be a real issue which is why they said to prepare for the possibility of a C-section but that doesn't mean I (or anyone else) will have to have one. It all depends. That was the only point I was making.
