Does professional carpet cleaning get dog urine smell out of rugs?

My female dog has urinated in every room the kids are in...nursery, my DS's room and the rug in the LR where the kids play. I have managed to spot clean the kids room but the area rug in the LR is covered with urine I can't even spot clean it, it's that bad.

I thought she stopped doing this. But the colors in the rug must have hidden all the urine spots until I got down on my hands and knees to smell it

ETA: Normally I would just throw out the area rug but it was an expensive Pottery Barn rug that is only a couple years old.

I would say most likely yes. DS threw up his bottle (+ dinner) ALL OVER the stairs. It smelled so badly for a few days (even after trying to clean multiple times)until we couldn't take it anymore and called Stanley Steemer. After they came the smell was gone!

DH used to work for Chem Dry. They do have something you can ask for that breaks down the enzymes in the urine. It is extra, I think.

Pet stores sell cleaners for this. It has an enzyme to break down the urine smell and it reaaly works great.

We have even used it for our kids potty training accidents

What about natures miracle? That worked good for us.
