This is NOT a good solution, but with both of our crazy hours, it's the only thing that's helped. We do the laundry and then use one of our spare bedrooms and dump the clothes on the bed. Then, we just go through it every morning to find what we need. There's not enough time except weekends when we're both exhausted to fold, iron, etc. Hoping to get back to normal soon.

Ummm, glad I'm not the only one using the bed in the spare bedroom for thisChat Icon

Re: Does the Laundry ever end?

we do 2-3 loads a week i think, including DS's

I throw in a load when i get home (7 pm) then switch it to the dryer at 8 and then when its done at 9, take it out and bring it to hte living room where we both fold while watching tv or whatever

do this 1 or 2 nights a week, or just throw a few in on the weekends. It works.

We have several sets of sheets/towels and rotate around so i don't have to wash and use that same day

As a FTWM as soon as DS turned 1 I did his laundry with ours. DD is 6 months old I will do the same with her. I can't tell how much of my time I have freed up by doing this.

Re: Does the Laundry ever end?

Ha ha! We think alike bc I say that to myself all the time and was considering posting it.
Especially bc DH is a contractor so he goes through so much clothes. Layers bc he's outside and doesn't wear a jacket sometimes then comes home and changes to something else.
Oh, then the kids and myself. Yes, by the time the load is out of the laundry I feel the pile of clothes is adding up waiting to be done again.
Not even gonna discuss towels or bedding. Hate it!

Does the Laundry ever end?

Never. The pile reaches the ceiling in the laundry room. Then there's baskets full of dirty laundry everywhere. I can't keep up.

Re: Does the Laundry ever end?

There is currently a basket of DD's unfolded clean laundry in the living room, with some folded on the couch. There is folded laundry or laundry waiting to be hung up sitting on her glider. Her outfits have been coming from that pile this week. There is a basket of mine and DH's unfolded laundry in my den with some folded/waiting to be hung on that couch. The dryer is full of laundry. The washing machine has laundry that needs to be re-rinsed because I've been doing so much since DD has been sick and vomiting everywhere. Her hamper is almost full.

No, it never ends.

Re: Does the Laundry ever end?

I am OCD w/ Laundry. My Dh makes fun of me bc I sometimes will put a load of wash in the minute I wake up- even before using the bathroom.

I do at least 1-2 loads a day. If I don't then I suffer the next day doing around 3-4. They have to be folded and put away- everyday. nothing can be left on beds, dressers etc. I am definitely OCD w laundry.

there are 6 of us so I need to stay on top of it to keep things normal and me sane.

Does the Laundry ever end?

We are always doing laundry. Towels, underwear, socks and DH's undershirts we can go about a month we have so many but for the stuff we wear most often I feel like we're always washing something... jeans, sweaters, shirts... it really does never end.

I just like that for DS he is so little ALL of his stuff fits in one wash!! Chat Icon
