Does the obsession ever go away?
Sorry for all my posts.
But recently since my OBGYn referred me to a RE, I have been so obssessed reading about IF. I am exhausted and I haven't even gone to my first visit. I am hoping and praying that once I meet with the RE that my obsession will subdue.
DH has told me to get a hobby. Girls, After finding out about your IF and meeting with your RE, did you find yourself to be less obsessed? Or has it gotten Worse?
This anticipation for my first visit is killing me! MY DH is getting tired of me talking about it (he didn't say so but I could tell) and we haven't even started our IF journey.
TIA for yet another vent!

Re: Does the obsession ever go away?
When I first found out my tubes were blocked I spent night after night surfing the web for IF info. I swear, I was on every IF chat board known to man.
When I met with the RE, I surfed to check out my protocol, discuss with others, etc.
I'm not sure if the obsession ever dies, but it does slow down...(DH is sitting next to me saying it hasn't ).

I was COMPLETELY obsessed up until the day I finally got PG. I was so obsesed that DH was getting so annoyed. It really takes a toll on you physically and especially MENTALLY. Hang in there.

LOL
Thanks Girls! I hope that it dies down once I know what treatment etc etc. But, I don't mind being obsessed before my appointment because I do want to be informed and know exactly what the doctor is telling me.
Thanks again!

DH was just telling me today....."Can't we have an enjoyable lunch?" Sometimes I feel that he doesn't feel the same pain I do. I am sure he does but expresses it differently.

I think it's crucial to be informed. Fertility treatment is elective and you know your body best....so the more you are aware of your specific condition, the more you can give personal information to the doctors to have them investigate further. It's also important to make sure you are in the hands of a RE who specializes in your diagnosis.

I only wish I was this informed 2 years ago. If only, I had my HSG sooner. I have told my GFs recently that if they don't have a baby in 6 mos. that they should definitely see a RE and get an HSG. Now, I could only advocate because I cannot change what has happened in the past.

Re: Does the obsession ever go away?
for me it did die down but wont ever go away I dont think I was just like you 100% obsessed at firts, and in a way it was a GOOD thing. I learned soo much that helped me now. BUT..as time goes on, I find myself less interested in reading things, or obsessing all the time. Not sure if this is normal or not, just my experince.
