Does this apply to ALL tests?? *FINAL UPDATE!!!!!*
you might have read in my other post that I decided to 'cheat' and test early with some cheapo HPT I found at walmart. Today is 10DPO (about 4 or 5 days before expected AF).
I definitely was expecting BFN because it's sooooo early and such. But, um, there's definitely the faintest of lines in the test widow. That saying "A line is a line" - does that go for ALL pregnancy tests or just a certain brand? I used a weird one that I never used before. It's called Equate Early Pregnancy Test. My camera just makes the picture all blurry so there's no use posting it. But there's a control window and that line was dark blue, and then a test window and a definite faint line in it. I didn't even need to hold it to the light to see it.
What do you think??? It just seems WAY too early to get a positive result and i don't want to get my hopes up.
When should i test with a digital??? Like i said, I'm 10DPO, about 4 or 5 days before AF is due. Is it still too early? Should i wait a couple days or go for it tomorrow?
I'm so jumpy!! My hands are shaking and DH isn't home to inspect the line with me! I feel like I'm going to throw up!
********UPDATE #1*********
9/5 - - ok, so this morning with FMU I tested with BOTH HPTs. The digital gave me a negative, but I'm still seeing another faint line on the Equate. So I'm very curious right now I understand though that digitals are not nearly as sensitive as the Equate brand is, so I'm definitely wondering if it's still just too early for the digital to detect it. If I'm NOT pregnant, I just don't understand why I keep seeing a line on the other test, as that's never happened to me before. Seems odd. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed I'll test again soon and keep you all updated.
***********************FINAL UPDATE**********************
9-6-09 - - Welp, I tested again this morning with a digital and here's what came up...........
Thank you ladies for ALL of your support, kind words, and advice. You have all helped me with this process sooooo much!! I wish everybody here all of the best!! With lots and lots of babydust And PLEASE send your good vibes my way that this 'sticks'

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
I have never used that test, but I think if you are clearly seeing a faint line then that would be a BFP! Can you maybe get another test (different brand) and test later today or tomorrow? If there is a line with a different brand then I would say you are def PG!
Oh, and sometimes with my digital camera if you hit that little macro button (it usually has a flower as its symbol) you get a clearer picture.

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
Someone asked the 'pregnancy board' what DPO did you find out your were pregnant and a lot pf girls mentioned "9-12 DPO"
Soooo I don't think you are too early! Do you actually think you can stand there any longer and not buy a digital I know I won't lol.
Keep us posted!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
I just looked up this walmart brand test on www.peeonastick.com and they said that it's super sensitive. "Definitely the best of the bunch thus far."
Man, I hope it's not a false positive. That would be awful, huh? I'd rather have a false NEGATIVE of course.
And P.S: I am now far beyond the 10 minute mark (it's been more like an HOUR now) and I'm still picking up the test every few minutes to look at it. hahaha. I'm so weird.

smp123 & Maybe-A-Baby10 - so you don't think it's too early to test with a digital? Cause the suspense is killing me and I'd love to test tomorrow, but I don't want to do it if it's just going to be too early to tell.

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
i have been reading a bunch of posts and it seems that usually most people get a BFP between 9 and 12 DPO - and you're right in the middle!
if you don't do it today, i would def try tomorrow! good luck!!!

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
the ONLY time i've ever heard of a false positive is with the +/- tests. (i got one)
if it's JUST a line test then no, it's not a false positive - you're pregnant!

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
I thought there was no such thing as a false positive. Either the hormone is there or its not.
Maybe try another one to be sure?
either way congrats!

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
did you see my post from the other day and how faint my line was at 9 or 10dpo. i think if you see any line that it's probably a BFP. i think tomorrow iwth FMU on a digital should be accurate. if you want to test again today i would buy the first response early results test ( i love those ones) and hold your pee for 4 hours and see if you get a line. good luck

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
OMG - so much feedback! Thank you!! I do have those digitals at home. Maybe I can try to hold it for 4 hours and do it again tonight when I get home from work (rather than waiting until the morning). Wait... is it like the OPKs whereas you shouldn't drink during that timeframe also? Cause then I might have to just wait. It's impossible for me not to drink (water, that is)

I thought there was no such thing as a false positive. Either the hormone is there or its not.
that's what I thought, but then I saw on PeeOnAStick that it was written: "All tests are prone to evaporation lines-- a gray, colorless, "ghostlike" line, or a "dent" in the test in the place where a positive line would be."
So that just made me wonder. But mine was definitely a very faint blue line, not just some dent. So i'm hoping for the best!! I'll take a digital as soon as I can and let you guys know!!! Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Does this apply to ALL tests??
1st off..I am so excited for you, that there's a possibility your PG. If you are 4 days out until AF then an early PG test could completely be accurate. Equate is Walmarts generic brand and the one I used & it was accurate. Best of luck & can't wait to hear the great news (for sure)

oh yay!! FINALLY somebody else who has used this random Walmart brand. lol. I think I should test again with the digital tomorrow morning just to be accurate. Usually my cycle is 28 days, but last time it was only 27. So I'm not sure which day I'm at now. Either 5 or 4 days from AF. I'll have to wait till tomorrow, just to be safe.
And thanks for the kind words - I'll post again this weekend with (hopefully) the good news!!!!!!!
