Does This Sound Crazy?
I have been making a big effort trying to get the boys out and about to experience new stuff...even if it's going to the store and seeing people.
They are both walking now, but I still mainly use the stroller.
DH still is not a big fan of taking them places as he finds it to be a lot easier to go places on our own then with the boys, but I feel they are just stuck in the house now.
I am contemplating bringing the boys into the city for the St. Patricks Day parade. There is no way DH would want me to do this in anyway and I would of course try and get my mom or some other family member to come in and help me, but I think the boys would enjoy the parade and music.
Do you think I would be crazy to try and attempt this? The weather would have to be nice and all and I of course would drive in. Or am i just crazy for even trying to do it?

I don't think I would attempt the parade in the city? What about one of the local parades that usually take place the weekend before St. Patrick's day? It would probably be a lot easier and safer.

Re: Does This Sound Crazy?
I took the train in once by myself at 20 to meet a friend and it was so horrible that I left on the first train back home. The sheer about of people was crazy I could not imagine doing that with a double stroller.
Also, my boys hated the sirens at the local Memorial Day Parade, and the booming drums, I would not want to risk going into the city to realize they hate it, kwim.
I would do a local parade on the weekend and maybe decide to do it another year.

The parade will be small this year because it is on a Monday. Your best bet is to stay away from high traffic zones like 42nd, 57th Street. These are the grandstands and major MTA stops.
I will be bringing the twins and we will be on 5th in the 80s. It isn't so crowded there! I cannot wait to bring the kidlets to the parade!
I hope you enjoy!

Re: Does This Sound Crazy?
I've taken my guys to the city - drove in and walked around. A parade day might be totally crazy, but on ordinary days it's a great thing for them to experience.

That is where i would bring them. I have been to the parade a number of times and are pretty well versed about where to bring them and no way would i take the train in.
But maybe some local parades might be the better option to see how they do and maybe next year we do the NYC parade.
Thanks ladies!

Re: Does This Sound Crazy?
I've done it with my son. But, haven't attempted it with my daughters. It's seem like it would be just so crazy. I'd love to do it. But, I probably wouldn't with a stroller. I have a side by side & we woudln't get to far.

Re: Does This Sound Crazy?
i don't think it is crazy! i would def. take them in. As long as you have someone with you. I have gone into the city with the girls so many times. I was even there today. It is easier with someone else, but i have gone by myself Driving is easiest! make sure you bundle them up.
its a shame that dh does not want to go.
Good Luck with your decision!

Re: Does This Sound Crazy?
no it's way too crazy there. a lot of drunken kids and people, I wouldn't do that. You could always take them into the city on a random weekend to get them out of the house
