Does this sound right?
At my last Dr.'s appt. (31wks), I asked when my next sonogram would be since I haven't had one since 20weeks. The Dr. told me I wouldn't be getting any more since I am not at risk for anything. Aren't you supposed to get one around 35-36 weeks?

That is right. I only had a sonogram early on to see the heartbeat and then another one at 20 weeks. I only get one more at 32 weeks.

I haven't had one since 20 weeks though. Doesn't that seem odd? Aren't they supposed to measure the babies weight toward the end?

Re: Does this sound right?
When the dr confirmed that I was in fact pregnant, they gave me all these papers on what I can do and when to expect certain tests. On it, it said that they do sonos at like 8 weeks,20 wks and 32 wks. The only reason they do more is if they are looking for something specific or if you are going to a high risk dr or something. Sometimes they didn't get a certain angle and they will have to try again next time for measurements but it sounds right according to my drs. I know its a bummer, we always want to see our little baby!

Aren't I still owed my 32 week sono then? Okay, I am being obsessive now I'm sorry
I'm so anxious to see this little boy again, especially since at 20 weeks we had a 4D Sono (although we didn't ask for it). Hmmm... maybe that's why we're not getting anymore. Bummer.

Re: Does this sound right?
You are right. I just had one, I'm 33 weeks, to check the babys size and make sure everything is ok in there. I would look further into this, I thought it was a standard thing.

I also think every doctor is different and every insurance is difference. My doctor told me I'll have 4-5 sonos. I had one at 7 wks, I have one next week at 12 wks, then another at 20 wks, and then I don't know how spaced out from there, but she said expect two more after that.

Re: Does this sound right?
Yeah, I would think you are getting one more. I misread your post and thought you just had one at 31 weeks. But every dr is different so you never know. See what the other girls say. I can only tell you what mine does and he does one at 32 weeks.

Its right... I had one at 32 weeks...only because I had a low lying placenta...and they wanted to make sure it moved into the right place...

Re: Does this sound right?
20 weeks should be the last one....IF you needed another one, it'd be around 36 weeks.
I had one at 30 but they thought she was in distress since she was not moving alot

Re: Does this sound right?
I did not have another one after 17 weeks--that was the Level II. My doctor said unless there was cause for alarm or I was pretty overdue it would not be necessary. Like everyone said, each doctor is different.

Re: Does this sound right?
Not all doctors do a sonogram at the end. It really isn't necessary.
