Does winthrop allow baby to stay in room with you
Just curious cuz i know my friend was given the option if she wanted teh baby in room with her overnite. I would love it if winthrop allowed but it doesnt look like that is the case.

Re: Does winthrop allow baby to stay in room with you
I do not know about Winthrop but I just wanted to comment because when I had DD I was given the option of keeping her in the room overnight or sending her to the nursery - so as a new mom I chose to keep her in the room. In retrospect it was the worst decision and for my next I will definitely be sending the baby to the nursery.
Especially that first night you really need your rest. I was so exhausted that the following evening I actually fell asleep while the lactatiion consultant was manipulating my breast and the baby
ANyway just wanted to offer my advice as a BTDT. Good luck

I know my hosptial allows the baby to stay with you all night, but I'm pretty sure I will be sending her back to the nursery at night!

Here is a piece of advice: SEND THE BABY TO THE NURSERY!!
If you are BFing, ask them to bring you the baby when he/she is hungry, if you are formula feeding, let them do it.
My DS is almost 21 months old, my time in the hospital was the last time I slept through the night. Seriously

Re: Does winthrop allow baby to stay in room with you
They take the baby back to the nursery around 10pm when all the daddies are leaving. You are given the choice if you want to do night feedings or let the nurses do it if you are bottle feeding.
If you are breastfeeding they bring the baby every 2 hours to you.
It is safer to leave them in the nursery at night since if you fall alseep there is no one to watch the baby in the room.
I BF and I can't tell you how fast those 2 hours came. I was so exhausted and I was like "I love you little baby but you are back again so soon". I don't think I was ever so tired in my life. I didn't have a choice because I was breastfeeding though and I didn't want him to have any formula.

Re: Does winthrop allow baby to stay in room with you
Winthrop doesn't let the baby stay overnight, but they ask you whether or not you want to take the overnight feedings. I didn't BF my daughter, and my roommate gave me great advice and told me to get my rest and let the nurses feed her. That full night's sleep before going home was great...

I see it the opposite. I say, keep the baby with you. Get used to having them with you while in the hospital with people around that can help you
For me personally, I think this is the best way. My hospital encourages the babies to stay with their parents. Of course, if you need a break they will take them to the nursery for you
