Does your DC's twin/full bed have a head board AND a foot board?
I see few that I love , but no foot board. Also do you use a bed rail on the side (s) so they don't fall of? Regular beds just seem so high, I'm worried about DD falling off ...

We only have a head board and we have a bed rail. She is so restless when she sleeps she would roll right out

we just put DD into a big girl bed. right now she doesn't have a headboard or footboard because it is backordered. her twin bed is up against the wall so we have a bed rail on one side and the wall on the other. she hasn't even ventured to the foot of the bed. she definitely needs the bedrail though because the other night when i went to check on her she was propped up against it.

I was paranoid and would only look at beds with headboards and footboards. I am very glad I did because most mornings we find her with her head by the footboard!
I also got a double rail, because even though one side is against the wall, the heating element prevents it from being totally flush with the wall.

No footboard. When I had friends over and we would hang out in my room, I liked that we could sit on the end of the bed. So, no footboard.
I have a bedrail on one side. On the other I have a pillow so she hopefully won't fall out. It's a full sized bed so she SHOULD have enough room...

DS has a full. It is against the wall so we have one rail on it.

DS is 2 1/2
he has a head board NO foot board and we took the rail off his bed when he turned 2 and about 3 months ago we took off the other bed rail (he had two bc his bed doesnt sit flush against the wal), so now he has 2 open sides.
DS has also been in his bed since he was 13 months old (16 months officially)

Re: Does your DC's twin/full bed have a head board AND a foot board?
My DD is in a twin bed that does have a footboard. I didn't choose it because it has the footboard, I chose it just because I loved it and it happened to have a footboard. I don't use bedrails. I had forgotten to buy them before the bed was delivered and so that night I put the nighttable up against the bed on one side and tucked the blankets in real tight on the other side. She was fine. I went in several times to check on her and she was nowhere near the sides. I did buy the bedrails the next day but have not put them on since she has never been remotely close to the sides (and I check OFTEN). Now. last night a few times she was all over the bed -- turned sideways a few times and I turned her back but she kept flopping I guess. I was going to return the bedrails but now I'm reconsidering; although maybe since she was so restless last night and did not fall out, she "knows" the boundaries of the bed? IDK.
Finally, when you look for beds, see if they have ones where the height of the bed is adjustable. The one I got has 3 different heights where the siderails of the bed can be attached, so as she grows, we can raise it. We also don't have a boxspring -- we got a "bunkie board" instead so the mattress would be lower. We can add the boxspring later too as she grows. The height of the bed at this point isn't THAT much higher than her toddler bed.

Sarah's twin has both a headboard and a footboard. No bedrails, but it has 2 mattress positions (doesn't need a boxspring) so when she's older we can move it up to the higher position.
