New to the board - mom on bed rest
Hi everyone,
My name is Vera and I am currently 21 weeks pregnant. I have been placed on bed rest due to a dynamic cervix and an irritable uterus. (yeah)
I have a 21 month old daughter and just moved into Garden City a few weeks ago. We are still trying to get our stuff out of boxes.
Wanted to see if anyone else on the board was on bed rest and what they did to pass the time.

Welcome to LIF. If you do a search, there are plenty of moms that were put on bed rest for various reasons. I was but only for a few days around 30 wks when I had premature contractions. Congratulations on your new home!

Not on bedrest yet BUT its more than likely in my future...
I have been on bedrest with all my pregnancies..twins and singleton..no real diagnosis..apparently after a certain weight my body just wants the baby out...
My last pregnancy was over 8 years ago BUT I remember the 3 months of bedrest well...

Welcome Vera. I am not on bedrest but it could happen at any moment b/c I have a very stubborn placenta previa. So far my cervix is cooperating, but that can change at any time.

Welcome! I am 26 weeks. Congrats on the move - I live in Garden City too. If you want to know anything about the area please feel free to ask questions - I also grew up here.

Hi, welcome.
Im not on full bedrest but restricted duties and disability from work due to my hyperemesis and now due to being monitored for pre term labor ( which I have no signs of at this point)
Im 29 weeks.
Its boring as hell at home all day long though.
I can get out once in a while and its tiring but I try to do as much as I can.
My biggest issue has been no motivation to get up in the morning, get dressed or change clothes, shower, do the daily routine...and so the days are starting to blend into one another and I need to work on that.
Im on here all the time and I read a lot.
Day time tv stinks, so I dont even go there...
Hope time flies for ya!

welcome to the board! I hope you find your time on bedrest goes quickly for you. I spent 3 weeks on bedrest with my twins a few years ago. It can be boring but you can make the most of it! Do you have help with your daughter?
Congrats on your new house! I grew up in GC, its a great town! Your going to love getting out with your kids in no time and walking around town!! Good luck!!

her grandmother's help out by splitting up the week.
Its tough for everyone but we are getting through it.
The hardest part is not being able to care for her on my own. I cant change her or feed her or pick her up (it devastates me). But this too shall pass right?

I am very excited about living here. It seems like a really great town.

It is - there is so much to do, great restaurants etc - there are also lots of playgrounds for your children to play when you get off bed rest. That is great you have help - is there some activities you two can do together - like scrapbooking or other hobbies you can do from your bed with your daughter?

I am sorry about the bedrest and moving, that would drive me up the wall with all the boxes!
I was put on bedrest and meds with DD at 26 weeks for an irritible uterus-i was having pre term contractions.
I was on my computer alot-making lists, doing invites, LIF, email-etc., I read everything and anything I could, watched some movies and tv, did some crafts for the baby that i could do on the couch.

Welcome!!! I'm pretty new here myself. I'm not on bed rest..but let me tell you..I am HOPING that I can get out of work at least a month early because I am SOOOO TIRED of working!!! I'm due in August..so I figured it would be good time to go to the beach/pool and just RELAX! I'm sure being on bed rest is not easy..but I kind of want to be there..just not on 100% full bed rest... LOL! Hope time flies for you...and if not..you have us
