Does your dog bark at the TV?
Belle (our pug) does and I find it so frustrating because she really goes and attacks the TV. Any advice? It's usually when she sees another animal on the screen or hears a noise she doesn't like.

aw Ollie does this and I think it's the cutest thing but I guess it's because our TV is nailed into the wall and I know it's not going anywhere! She can't even reach it.

I try to redirect her attention, but it hasn't worked! The only thing that does work is shutting off the TV or changing the channel which has become annoying!! We're stumped!

Re: Does your dog bark at the TV?
One of ours does when there are animals on TV - she'll growl and bark at them. We always correct her and she's getting better now (she knows she's not supposed to be doing it & will usually only growl a little until we tell her to stop or bark once or twice now), but we're still working on it. We're not about to let our dog's behavior dictate what we can and can't watch, so we'll work on it as long as we need to.

Katie, our JRT, watches TV and tilts her head but doesn't bark. I used to have a pug that would bark like crazy when she saw animals on the tv.

This is exactly what I have been trying not to happen, her dictating what we watch. Unfortunately, it hasn't really been working. I guess this is practice for being a stern parent!

My dogs do it occasionally if they see a dog on TV. I like when they do, I think it's so cute.

Yeah, that's the way I look at it too. It's really hard being consistent, but otherwise she'll never learn

Pug owner here as well. It's like he watches tv, doesn't move a muscle, but if a dog or other animal appear on TV he goes CRAZY

Mine does the same thing or if there are other dogs on the screen. She will go nuts.

That is what my dog does (shih tzu). Otherwise she doesn't really bother with the TV. My sisters dog (a french bulldog) watches TV and reacts to it.

Re: Does your dog bark at the TV?
I posted about this maybe a month ago and got no response. I have a 7yr old pug who barks uncontrollably at the TV! its so fustrating!!! I have tried everything! coins in the can, the clicker I even tried (from an oprah show) a squirt bottle and you squirt them everytime they bark, as soon as they stop you tell them good boy and reward them with a treat. Well it worked for a week, but then he out smarted us and just wanted treats so he would bark and stuff he wouldn't normally bark at just to get the treats
I think I'm going to get a trainer. I can't take it anymore. And I have no other ideas! DH wants me to write into the show "its me or the dog" and have victoria come to our house-LOL It would never happen.
I guess its a pug thing
