doesn't seafood call out to you???

I swear walking through the seafood dept in a supermarket my mouth waters.....in restaurants, guaranteed the menu opens to that page or the waitress/waiter suggests a special of the day I could die for.....man, only about 6 months and 2 weeks until I can have some nice shrimp and crab....maybe even some scallops.....

Seafood is fine. They caution you about mercury content which is high in certain fish such as tuna and some others. My book says to limit tuna intake to no more than 6 oz per week.

I was told by my DR that it was good to have shellfish every now and then. There is some type of mineral/vitamin in it that is good for the baby.

Seafood in moderation is fine....they like you to stay away from big fish like Tuna, Mako, Swordfish...because the mercury count is high. Other seafood is perfectly fine...I was told to limit it to 12 oz a week and cooked seafood.

I have seafood a lot, I love shrimp, which is fine, and I have flounder a lot too. I stay away from swordfish, tile fish, king mackerel and tuna. These are all high in mercury!

Re: doesn't seafood call out to you???

My Dr. told me any fish without a lot of mercury 2-3 times per week. When i read the ones that contain high levels of mercury I had never heard of many of them and certainlyt wouldn't order them in a restaurant-tilefish? ugh!

Chat Icon Awesome! My OB told me that I can have 4oz a week of shellfish. I just have to avoid Tuna, Swordfish, and a few others. I have been craving sushi (spicy tuna roll) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I told DH that he is responsible for having someone in the family show up to the hospital with a spicy tuna roll from Yamaguchi (in Port Washington) & a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Chat Icon Now I am drooling on the keyboard! Chat Icon
