Re: Dog Q (need asap help)
I didn't even know you had a dog. Is your dog okay? I have been through quite a few incidents with my dogs. Maybe I can help, let me know.

Re: Dog Q (need asap help)
Thanks for your concern everyone Bascially what happened was that while i was away this weekend my dad bought Martin Greenies
I didn't even know this until last night i looked down and he was chewing on the last part of one.... It was a bit bigger than a quater, oval size (football shaped)
I went to take it from him...and he swallowed it....WHOLE....
So i freaked out...
Talked to shorty who was WONDERFUL and called the vet emergency.
Basically i have to watch and make sure hs is pooping....
AND now i call my dad today to talk to him to find out he gave him at least 3 of them while i was gone
So i am freaking a little hoping and praying for poop

Re: Dog Q (need asap help)
Greenies are harmless, but if he doesnt look like he's chocking on it, he should be fine.. expect to see some green poops coming your way

Oh poor Martin. I am sure he will be ok but its good youre taking all necassary percautions.
Piyo..... actually Greenies are bad for dogs. Especially toy breeds, many have died and choke on them.
I wont feed my dogs Greenies either.,

Re: Dog Q (need asap help)
that stinks :(
I haven't had any problems with Greenies in the past, but have stopped feeding them to my dogs since they are "gulpers"

Re: Dog Q (need asap help)
Millions of Greenies are sold and eaten by dogs each year so chances are that Martin is safe. It must be scary but the odds are on your side. Please keep us posted

yes this is true but i saw the size of the one he swallowed...
the issue isn't the greenies per say but HOW they are eaten.
Theya re nice and safe for a dog that chews it properly...
Martin likes to chew things to a certain point then swallow them...which is why i don't give him anything like that....
From what i hear Greenies are more difficult for the stomach acids to break down, possibly causing obstruction and death....
So imo it has potential to be serious....
But thanks....i am confident that the odds are with me but yes scary.... ESPECIALLY for me...a HUGE over-reactor!
