Dog Toy??
Can anyone recommend a sturdy toy for my dog. He destroys all his toys.. thats his goal. He loves the rip sound. we bought toys that say indistructable... yeah right.. hes only 30lbs but he goes through toys like no tomorrow. My father just bought him a canvas rope frisbee today and one hour later its in the trash..

Re: Dog Toy??
The only toys Katie does not destroy are Kongs and Air Dog Tennis Balls - they have a squeaker in them.

Re: Dog Toy??
Kong -- doesnt interest him.. he loves squeekie toys problem is once he hears the squeak he gets determined to tear into it until he rips it out. Lately i keep giving him plastic bottles, he chews on those.. but i have to keep an eye on him, once a piece of plastic comes off i toss.
His favirote toys are the canvas ones, like a doll with a squeek in it, oh boy does he love that rip sound.

Re: Dog Toy??
Have you tried freezing the kong or something soft. Marley really likes her chilly bone (a cloth bone that I wet and freeze), but my mom used to use a frozen sock for her pups. Same idea.

He does love ice cubes. Everytime i give him a cloth thing he rips it apart and eats it, and then well he has trouble going #2, and screams b/c it gets stuck, thats why i dont want to give him the canvas toys.. I feel bad, hes only 1 and loves toys.

Re: Dog Toy??
Sometimes we give her a water bottle with ice in it
Also with the Kong- we put the Milk Bone Chewy treats in it. That keeps her occupied.
Anything soft with a squeaker she destroys although sometimes we will get one and play with her and then put it away. If we don't watch her for 2 seconds she has shredded it and is looking for the squeaker.
That's a shame he eats the air dogs. That's the only thing we can give her that has a squeaker.

Put some peanut butter or a treat in the kong, trust me your dog will LOVE trying to get it out!!!
Kasey destroys all of her toys too, the kong is the only one that's lasted for the 7 months that we've had her!!

i just learned about them and they have toys that will last for a few weeks. They're called Tuff toys and the higher the number, the tougher they are! A personal favorite of my dogs is the tug of war (sport series).
-Kongs are great, but for Jedi, they last only about 5 minutes. And he's a chewer so we need other things to keep him occupied...

Re: Dog Toy??
Kong has a new toy out, encased in a really tough materialcalled the Kong Wubba.
This may work for your dog. I can't get a direct link so look under NEW products for Kong Wubba. My dogs love it!

Re: Dog Toy??
we usually put puppy biscuits or PB in the kong and it keeps the puppy busy for a while. Morgan and Riley both enjoy ice cubes, so sometimes I'll soak their toy rope and freeze it...the LOVE that.

Katie has the wubba. She has had it for about 3 months. It is a bit frayed but this is the longest anything soft with a squeaker other than air dogs have lasted.

I went to the pet store to look for a durable toy for Yogi and they recommended the Tuggies for me. I didn't get one, only cause I hadn't planned on spending that much money, but I think I might next time I stop into the store.
