Dog vomiting- UPDATE #2
UPDATE #2 On Tuesday we woke up and found that he had gotten sick again. We took him to the vet and the blood test was clear. He's lost 1.5 pounds (he only weighed 20 lbs) and he's still not really regular. They gave me antibiotics and probiotics and told me to give him pepcid for 5 more days. Please pray that this runs its course and that its not a partial blockage!!!!!!! My poor baby!!!!!
**** He s vomited about five times since last night including foam. I assume it's something he ate on fathers day since we had a big party and my baby niece dropped some food. I have a vet appt at 10 but I dont know what to expect. I've been lucky enough to go seven years without dealing with an emergency any advice is appreciated-I'm not feeding him today, just water.
UPDATE took him to the vet yesterday, they gave him an injection to stop the vomiting and some fluids under his skin (he had this big bubble on his side all evening but it absorbed by this AM).
I also have to give him pepcid and some special light food (which he doesnt want to eat- he still is VERY sick ) but at least he hasnt vomited since yesterday.
The vet said its likely he ate something bad and the only way to check if it was pancreatitis is to do a super expensive blood test. We decided to wait and see if his condition improves to do the test. So far he hasnt vomited since yesterday morning and he ate a little last night. Thanks for your comments and prayers

Re: Dog vomiting
He may have a case of pancreatitis, which they can find through a blood test. It's probably something he ate. Has he pooped? I would also question if something could be lodged somewhere.
I am not sure what advice to give. See what the vet says. Hope he gets better quickly.

Re: Dog vomiting- UPDATE
I am glad he hasn't vomited, that's a great sign. I am not a vet but I am totally going to guess it's a mild case of pancreatitis. So common when dogs eat fatty table foods. I hope he gets better soon.

Are they concerned that he could have something lodged in his intestines? Did you discuss this with the vet? When was the last time he went to the bathroom? Also...maybe he hasnt gone b/c he hasnt eaten?

awww... hope your furbaby gets well soon.
You may want to think abt insurance for the future . It will give you piece of mind if there are medical bills.

He's been going every day but he's not as regular as he used to be. He used to go right after eating twice a day but now its kind of random. Im sure his system was shocked plus we changed his food without slowly introducing it. I will call the vet tomorrow just to check in, thank you for your suggestion and concern.

Do you have it? Every time I research it, it doesnt seem worth while. He's almost 7 so it wouldnt be as cheap as it wouldve been if I bought it for him as a puppy.
