Dog Walking Etiquette
I'm still fairly new to all of this dog owner stuff, so I wanted to ask some people what was okay when walking Daisy!
Usually we just let her out in the backyard to go to the bathroom, etc, but we are having a bunch of work done so she can't go there. When I take her for a walk, is it okay that I let her walk on the grass in between the sidewalk and the street? This is where she has been taking care of her business (and I clean it up of course!). I just wanted to make sure that this didn't pi$$ people off too much.
Thanks!!!

Re: Dog Walking Etiquette
I posted the same question last night but my computer froze and it never posted. I'd like the answer to this too. I'm from queens so anywhere was really fair game to walk my dog although I'd never let her go on someone's front lawn. I'm wondering if there is some sort of unspoken rule about where to walk your dog in the suburbs.

I think as long as you pick it up it's fine. I think that part of the lawn belongs to the town anyway so noone can really say anything to you unless you are not cleaning up after your dog.

Re: Dog Walking Etiquette
I live on a street with no sidewalks so everyone lets their dogs just go on everyones lawn (#2 is better because at least its picked up but #1 leaves yellow spots)
in your situation its ok to let them go on the part between the street and sidewalk because I believe that belongs to the own

Re: Dog Walking Etiquette
I make Maggie pee on our lawn and do poops in the street. I personally think it's inappropriate to have your dog on someone's property. Her pee kills the grass and that's not fair to do to someone else's property. I don't let her poop on others lawns incase children play on it with no shoes, pick the grass and throw it, etc....
