Watch some you tube videos, those always help and practice, esp if you are going to apply fake eyelashes. When I got the Naked 3 palate I had no idea what to do with it so I watched You Tube and got great ideas...have fun

Re: doing makeup yourself as bridesmaid
Use a setting spray & an eye shadow primer.
Test your makeup by having someone take a flash photo of you.
Wear a little more than you think is enough with your color products.
Don't go too shiny/sparkly, but do use a little highlighter in key spots.
Bring powder & lipstick with you.
Layer your eye shadow & lipstick so they last longer.
ETA- you may also want to try false lashes, but practice at home first.

I just did my own makeup as a bridesmaid. Start researching products. Especially primers and foundations. Make sure your foundation doesn't have an SPF in it because that tends to look white in photos. Watch youtube videos for some ideas. Practice before hand this way you can see if you like it.

I've done my own makeup every time I've been a bridesmaid and for my own wedding and I've always been happy with how it came out. I had a trial with a makeup artist before my wedding and didn't like it at all, thought it was all too heavy and didn't look like myself, which is why I opted to just do my own makeup. I basically did it similar to my everyday makeup, just a little more. I had a lot of luck with Pur minerals brand for foundation. Then make sure to practice applying eye liner and eye shadow to suit your eyes and complexion. I agree with the other posters who suggested watching YouTube videos. You could probably pick up some great tips.

Someone suggested a flash picture- I couldn't agree more. Makeup artists know you're going to be washed out by flashbulbs all day, so they really know how to apply to adapt to that. Check out Youtube for suggestions for sure and def. take a flash pic. Good luck!

SPF in foundation doesn't always cause flash back. This video explains: ( read the description box too)
This is another good video by the same MUA about makeup for photography.
