Donated blood today
We had a blood drive at work today. I haven't donated in a while because I've had a few surgeries recently. It's nice being able to donate again....

For years, I couldn't. Diabetics weren't allowed to donate for the longest time. Once they opened those restrictions, I started donating. Then I did apheresis for a while (they take your blood, centrifuge it, take out the plasma, and give you most of your blood back. That takes a long time, and the chemicals they use to make sure your blood doesn't clot made me feel weird.
Then, I had an appendectomy, so I couldn't go for a while. A few years later, I had elbow surgery, so I was out of commission. By the time I was healed from that, I had shoulder surgery. Now, hopefully, I'm back on the donation path for a while.... 
I lost track, but my mom has pins for donating several gallons....
